I had a great experience at Crying Tiger! The food, staff, and decor were all fantastic, and the menu offers so many options to choose from. The beef pad see ew was absolutely amazing, and I have to say they serve the best mango sticky rice portion in the city. I also love that they have a dedicated vegan menu, making it accessible for everyone. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

5/5 stars! This family-run restaurant serves authentic Isan Thai cuisine that never disappoints. They've recently expanded their menu to include a selection of alcoholic drinks, enhancing the dining experience. A must-visit for Thai food enthusiasts in Toronto!

Probably the best Thai restaurant in Toronto that won't break the bank. What initially appears to be a a hole-in-the-wall actually reveals itself to be one of the best-kept secrets of the neighborhood. Outstanding, authentic Thai food--some of my favorites include the Tum Salmon, Duck Pla Ra, and Beef Pad Si Ew. The fish sauce is apparently Michelin star-rated--just one taste and it's not hard to see why. Cosy indoors and charming outdoor patio which just opened this summer.

I went to crying tiger but they made seated us in their sister restaurant next door. I find it very unfair because the atmosphere in crying tiger and the sister restaurant are so different. It was so loud, hot, stuffy, so many flies compared to the new place. Service was bad in general and I regret paying what i had to pay for low quality food.

This place is a sister restaurant to sontum jinda so literally it’s quite exactly the same menu when you order. Both share the same kitchen. Food was amazing (a bit of a miss with the garlic chicken) but pad see ew was phenomenal. I also loved the Thai ice tea in a slushee format?!? Very refreshing and fun.

Crying tiger is a sister restaurant of the Som Tum Jinda. They are basically side by side. The restaurant has really cute decor. It got really busy after we were seated so come early if you didn’t make a reservation! The food is very yummy! Portion is on the smaller side compared to all the other Thai restaurant. It can get really loud when it’s packed, probably one thing they could improve. Overall a pretty good experience. They have patio at the back end as well if you prefer to sit outdoor.

Crying Tiger is a new restaurant from the same people who opened the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Som Tum Jinda, located next door. This is an excellent restaurant. It's very different from other Thai food I've had in Toronto, for the better. We really enjoyed the fresh and fragrant flavours. We had the Tum Salmon, Panang Chicken, and Pad See Ew, with sticky rice on the side. It was all excellent. We asked for the Tum Salmon to be spicy, and they definitely complied! It was hot but not obnoxiously so – we could still enjoy the flavours. The dish had a delicate light flavour, and the fish was excellent. We would have liked a bit more fish as compared to tomato and pepper, but otherwise no complaints. The Panang Chicken was also delicious. The peanut sauce had the perfect texture and the chicken was cooked perfectly. There was one herb in the dish I didn't care for, but everything else was 10/10. My partner enjoyed her Pad See Ew. She thought it was really tasty and made for good comfort food. Overall we had a very positive experience. The restaurant still has a few kinks to work out, but that's to be expected of such a new establishment. This is definitely a place worth checking out!

Sister restaurant to Som Tum Jinda, currently serving the exact same menu (which is delicious, still), but with a lot more seating. Shared the som tum tod (crunchy! Salty!), larb ped (my fave of the night, great Kaffir lime flavour and had crispy bits on the side), and soob normai (bamboo) between 2 people. Textures and flavours were excellent, as expected. I'd recommend getting spicy level 1 and see how you handle it 🤡 I anxiously await the Crying Tiger menu 🫡 (only reason this isn't a 5 ⭐)
