Contrada

Probably the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life, well made, exceptional seasoning and flavour profile. The steak was good, but didn’t stand out. The potatoes and sauce were excellent. Price was high, but within expectations for Toronto and well worth it for the quality and quantity of food.

5 stars all around. The sweetest staff and amazing food! Went for Sunday dinner and had the porchetta which was Devine with the crispiest skin on top. Highly suggesting to add the fingerling potatos. The pastas, especially the doppio ravioli, was also lovely. Will definitely return.

I was highly recommended Contrada by a friend, so I decided to host my 33rd birthday dinner here. I was searching for an intimate, inviting venue with exceptional food, and Contrada delivered beyond my expectations. From the moment we arrived, our group was captivated by the warm ambiance, thoughtfully curated lighting, soulful music, and relaxed yet attentive service. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance, allowing us to fully enjoy each other’s company without interruption. Unlike other places where the lack of tact in clearing or serving dishes can disrupt the flow of conversation, Contrada handled everything with grace and precision—it was a refreshing and noticeable difference. We opted for the Sunday family-style menu, and every dish was a hit. The Dressed Olives, Burrata Toast, Wedge Salad, Swordfish Crudo, Ricotta Gnocchi, Zepploe Donuts, and Gelato were absolutely LOVED by everyone (which says a lot because we are a picky bunch) The entire experience left such an impression that I’ve already recommended Contrada to several friends since last night. I can’t wait to return—it’s a place I’ll be making an effort to visit again. Thank you very much for making my birthday evening such a memorable one.

Atmosphere is absolutely amazing, all of the servers help each other and make the experience 10 times better. My boyfriend has taken me here on a few dates so far and everything we have tried has been amazing. Their cocktails are also my favourite!

Had a wonderful dinner at Contrada this past Friday. The ambience of this restaurant was warm, modern, and intimate, a perfect date spot. Though they told us they could only hold our table for 2 hours, we weren’t rushed at all. We chose 5 dishes to share amongst the two of us, including: lamb croquettes, burrata toast, sweetbreads, pasta and the strip. Sweetbreads stole the show but everything was extremely well done. The amici verde cocktail was delicious too. Loved checking out Contrada and will be back as soon as I can.

Contrada had a 4.8 when we booked which is obviously impressive but also set expectations high. I can honestly say it did not disappoint. We had the swordfish, lamb croquettes, and burrata toast to start. All three were superb, especially the swordfish. Fresh, well balanced and beautifully plated. First main was the dual ravioli of which half were pumpkin and the other half liver pate. Beautifully fresh with incredibly light, yet rich whipped interiors. The second main was their steak. A fabulous striploin cut which was impeccably seasoned and had a melt-in-your-mouth fat cap. Came with wonderful crispy skinned potatoes with a white crema. Not sure what was in it but it was divine. I’m not one to gush but it was a truly fabulous meal. The menu seems to fluxuate (certain dishes we saw in the reviews did not exist) so I’m sure we will be back again soon to try new items. It’s rare every dish of a meal is a 9+ but it’s really how we felt. The pictures do NOT do it justice. Well done to Patrick, Mike, and Jessie for a super new addition to the Little Italy neighborhood!

10/10 recommend this place. Apperitivo hour is great. Highly recommend the wedge salad. Agnolotti and pork chop were SO good. Excellent, attentive service. Great wine. If I had to make one barely negative comment…the soap in the bathroom has such a strong smell that it lingers on your hands and overpowers the delicious food!

Everything about this place is magical. The space is perfectly lit and cozy. The sweetbreads were absolutely perfect. I can't stop thinking about the buttery polenta underneath perfectly seasoned shrimp, and the steak is ridiculously delicious. And lastly the staff, I can't remember the last time I felt so welcomed. Absolute gem!
