A culinary rollercoaster where the food's a 10, but the service is a 2. It's like ordering a Ferrari with a rickshaw driver. The food arrives faster than a speeding bullet, but the waitstaff moves slower than a glacier. Their chili oil? A fiery dragon's kiss! Their fried rice? A carb symphony. But let’s be real, you can’t go solo to Congee Queen unless you’re planning on a food coma. Their portions are so generous, you’ll need an army to conquer them all. The duck is divine, the beef and mushroom is a match made in heaven, and the pork ribs? So tender, they practically melt in your mouth. But the General Tao chicken? A bit of a letdown. It’s like the generic cousin of all General Tao chicken, but hey, it’s still edible. The pepper and salt squid, though? A must-try. It's the perfect salty, crunchy snack to balance out all that delicious, greasy goodness. So, if you're ready to embark on a culinary adventure, where the food is fantastic but the service is...well, questionable, then Congee Queen is the place for you. Just don't expect a warm and fuzzy dining experience.

I have order from Congee Queen but from the location in North York but this location was closer on delivery. 362 Yonge street. The reviews are up and down but, I decided to give it a try based on my crave. I ordered E18 Spicy Sambai Chow Mein and K41 Fried Sweet and Sour Pork. The Chow Mein priced at $21.25 and the Sweet N Sour Pork for $20. It's pricy for sure. I was disappointed though with the Spicy Sambai Chow Mein it reads that it's spicy but, for people who eat spicy things it has no spicy flavour to it. Wish they had an option to make really spicy but, it doesn't. It taste good but, I need spicy! The Fried Sweet and Sour Pork I really like. It's crispy and good. I am happy it lived up to the name. I would definitely order the pork again. I would recommend a visit. I hope they make the Sambai Chow Mein spicy as it would be real good.

Good congee! Wanton noodles r Q but broth lacks a little more flavour. Rice rolls are kinda thick to chew but I'm a picky eater. Fried rice is on point, crispy cuttlefish is perfect. Service is prompt.

Was highly recommended but I was disappointed. We tried to reserve but they weren’t taking reservations. Asked for the window table, we were told those were reserved. We got seated downstairs and it was exceptionally noisy. Never sit downstairs. We objected and after insisting a bit we got reseated upstairs. As for the food, we got fried rice, butter&garlic prawns, sizzling plate beef. Beef was good, rice was not bad but prawns were fried with their shells and intestines. Turns out if you pay an extra dollar, they’ll clean it before cooking? 🤷🏼‍♂️ something we only learned once we asked for a refund on the prawns. They acted professionally and didn’t object to refund the prawns. If you want to try this place 1) don’t sit downstairs, 2) ask for properly prepared prawns

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great chain in Toronto—it's so convenient! The portions are very generous, and the prices are quite reasonable. We were a group of five and ordered five dishes and a seafood congee, which were served very quickly. The seafood congee had plenty of seafood and can definitely enough for more than 5 people. My favorite was the eel fried rice—it was especially delicious! The egg tofu was also very good, tender and tasty. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal.

Finally we have a Congee Queen downtown! Definitely something that was missing in the culinary selection at Yonge/Dundas until recently. This chain has all the casual fare Cantonese staple dishes and are done so well. The food is always consistent, even throughout their other locations. I particularly love their (new) green bean & pork fried rice, stir fried green beans, and sweet & sour chicken - it’s served piping hot with tons of wok hei. They feature tasty new menu items now and then. Come hungry because the portions are generous.

Super good we order for 2 and the waiter had to move us to a bigger table! The portions are huge, you are sure to leave with a to go box. It’s the 3rd time am going and am always impressed. The service is super rapid. I totally recommend, it’s worth the money

I discovered this restaurant by chance when I walked past it, and I can tell you that it's my favorite place in To! To tell you the truth, I went there twice during my 3-day stay. The menu is incredible, all the dishes are delicious! and the portions are consistent for a really affordable price. I dream about the salt and pepper squid every night 😍
