I personally love congee queen and always went to the centrepoint mall location. We decided to try the OG location. It was goooood! Its a much smaller location. All dishes had great umami flavour. They tasted like how good congee queen dishes taste. I loved it and cant wait to go back.

Relaxed eatery if you come after the lunch rush. Their happy hour is from 3 to 5 pm. You get a lemon tea, basic bubble tea, red bean & Ice cream shake in addition. Food is functional. The brisket and tendon had this rank after taste / smell. Needs to be cleaned more. Stick with the beef brisket only. Wonton noodles was acceptable. Soup needs to be more pure. Rinse the wontons a bit more. Bitter melon and beef. Bland. Lukewarm. Not sure where the wok fire power went Relaxed environment. Serving staff are kind and efficient

This place offers the most comprehensive selection of Chinese cuisine you can imagine, with consistently good quality across the board. The BBQ, fried sticky buns, and fish are particular standouts, though everything else is nearly satisfying. While prices have gone up slightly compared to two years ago, they are still reasonable overall.

Every time we go to Toronto, we go to this Congee Queen location for dinner the day we arrive. This Congee Queen is the best among other Congee Queen locations. We normally order Fried Rice Noodle with beef (E25), Chicken fried rice with Salted Fish (H11), Snow Pea Leaves stir fried with garlic (K17). The food portion is always huge. The taste is consistently good. If you pay cash, you get 10% discount. The only thing we don’t like is their in-house spicy sauce. It wasn’t spicy at all. Too much vinegar put in the sauce. Not tasty at all. I hope that the restaurant management can get the spicy sauce from any supermarket instead of making the sauce in the kitchen to save cost.

First time visiting any Congee Queen location, didn't really know what to order but the servers were very helpful. The flavour was outstanding but even more so the portions were big! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs lol. Looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu next time.

I visited this restaurant today with a friend to grab lunch. After paying, we left and returned to pick up our food. Unfortunately, when the waiter handed me the food, I didn’t grasp it firmly enough, and it fell to the floor. I placed the food back on the table to check it, but the waiter who handed it to me just walked away, not offering any assistance or even acknowledging what had happened. Later, we called the restaurant to explain the situation. The cashier remembered us and said they would inform the manager, Kenny, who would call us back. When Kenny did call, he implied that I was distracted, possibly on my phone, and that’s why I dropped the food. He also said the waiter was too busy to help, according to his account. It’s one thing to subtly blame a customer, but claiming that your staff is “too busy” to assist a customer is concerning. We didn’t expect much—just a replacement for the food that fell. However, the best offer Kenny could make was a 20% discount on our next visit, but only if we paid in cash. This was a completely unsatisfactory resolution, especially considering there’s no guarantee we’d even get the discount if Kenny isn’t working or if it’s not recorded properly. As an Asian, I urge this restaurant to reconsider how they treat their customers. Don’t let your establishment be known for poor attitudes and unhelpful service.

The restaurant was bigger than I thought but the vibe, was exactly as I’d expected, buzzy. My brother had made a reservation so we didn’t have to join the queue. The menu was packed with a gazillion choices, so it took a while for us to decide. In the end, these were what we selected: 1. Sliced Fish & Pig’s Liver Congee – Very smooth and creamy, the congee had large pieces of both proteins which were well cooked. 2. Bittergourd with Pork – The default is beef but we asked to switch to pork which we agreed was a great idea as the white meat was fresh and tasty. Only thing is the chefs are rather heavy-handed with the black bean sauce, so we had to order a couple of bowls of plain rice to balance out the saltiness. 3. Rice Noodles with Beef in Scrambled Egg Sauce – They use narrow rice noodles and the slices of beef were plentiful. What impressed me most was the “wok hei” which was intense, and that made this dish of carbs smothered in eggy gravy, really enjoyable. 4. Soya Sauce Chicken – It was done perfectly, so even the breast meat was tender. A must-order in my opinion. 5. Twin Roasted Meat Platter – We loved the roasted duck and “siew yoke” (roasts pork belly). These were executed on point with the former being deeply fragrant, flavourful and juicy, and the latter boasting a super crunchy skin. 6. Century Egg & Pulled Pork Congee – I liked this even more than the first congee as it had a bolder taste.

Craving comfort food? Congee Queen North York delivers! Their congee is the star - perfectly cooked with flavorful broths and generous toppings. But don't stop there! They have delicious Cantonese dishes and some Pan-Asian options too. The atmosphere is casual and modern, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a satisfying meal. Be warned, it can get busy, so a short wait might be in store. Still, Congee Queen is a local favorite for a reason - definitely worth a try!
