Fantastic little spot that our family enjoyed. Maybe due to the difference in what was ordered but we loved the pineapple fried rice and coconut malay curry with fresh roti. We had it to-go at first but actually came back a couple of weeks later because we enjoyed it so much. Service felt like home, very kind and friendly. Prices are normal, in line with what you see everywhere these days when you eat out. Very surprised at the mixed reviews on food, but it seems they ordered items I would never have picked. I would recommend this place to anyone! It will be our go-to spot for curry and roti now, definitely was missing a good place for that in this area.

Coconut Grove is a true celebration of South Asian Cuisine. Whether you’re a fan of spicy curries or prefer milder flavors, there’s something for everyone on the menu. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy authentic taste of south asian cuisine. Highly recommended!

Yeah, about the food….there were a lot of misses than hits at Coconut Grove. Khao Soi with Chicken: the golden curry sauce and noodles were delicious. The chicken pieces were large and generous. However, the chicken was overcooked making it dry and firm which ruined a good dish :( Sweet Corn and Pineapple Fried Rice was meh. The pineapple is definitely from a can instead of using fresh pineapple. We dug around to try to find the sweet corn and there was none in our fried rice. Would definitely pass on this fried rice. Pepper Beef was tender and moist. The sauce was good but a bit on the salty side. Heads up, the portion sizes are on small end for the price point of a main dish.

Everything aside the taste of the food needs to be improved. The restaurant is located in a great place, has decent service, interesting theme and vibe but what lacks is the food quality. It doesn’t keep up with even the fast food quality from a generic food court. They’ve worked well on the ambience and interiors but the price and taste doesn’t match up to the overall experience. - Chicken dumpling 4/5 (outer covering too thick) - Crispy chicken fried rice 2/5 (bland and not sure who’s idea was it to throw a few pieces of fried nuggets into a fried rice but it is a culinary disaster) - Hot Garlic Stir Fry Shrimp 2/5 (shrimps weren’t fresh and the taste was just ok). Overall - I’d probably not go there again as the food isn’t exciting!

the food was incredible. I enjoyed the mango ginger salad and the calamari had a light fry that most places usually heavily oil. the beef tenderloin is probably the best dish I had, soft and tender with the perfect sauce. the dosa had lots of flavor and the pad thai was simply delicious. I do think the price is a little high for the portion, but the ambience is beautiful and the quality of the food is spot on. I would eat here if I was going to treat myself, for sure!

Coconut Grove is a new spot for modern Pan Asian Cuisine right inside Fairview Mall in North York 🌴 Loved the Tiger …. a hand painted beauty on the wall which sets the tone for a contemporary elegant vibe. There’e plenty of comfortable seating, from the indoor patio, the ample bar seating or for more private seating, there are more booths and tables behind the bar area. It does not feel like you are inside a mall. Opened just weeks ago. We are here to try the amazing menu curated by successful restauranteur and Chef Hemant Bhagwani Coconut Grove serves up cuisine from South India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand. We tried their: -Yuzu Lemonade Spritz Mocktail -Basil Berry Tea Mocktail -Lychee Ginger Beer Mocktail (a fave) -Tiger Prawns Tempura -Eggplant Salad -Massaman Chicken Curry -Village Fish Curry -Beef Tenderloin -Pad See Ew (Another fave) -Crispy Chicken Fried Rice (so tasty) @coconutgrove.fairview 1800 Sheppard Ave North York Conveniently located inside Fairview Mall by the subway. If you are driving there are plenty of parking. For more food adventures follow me Hungry.Jo on Instagram

Finally Don mills has a South Indian restaurant which matches the taste of back home. We ordered Idly, Few Dosas and Paratha with Mutton gravy. Dosas were crisp and very delicious. If you can handle a lil spice you can go for the Gun powder masala dosa. Idly was spot on, chutneys are perfectly made. Highly recommend this place if you are fond of South Indian cuisine.

I love finding good places that people don’t know about yet and this place fits the bill 100%. First off, unlike some other reviews on Google, I think the prices at this place are reasonable. You pretty much pay on par with food court prices now but here you get ambience and great service. In a food court, you’re now expected to tip, the food all tastes like cardboard but in different colours, and I would argue there’s no actual service - just a bunch of people doing the bare minimum to try to not get fired. This is a legit restaurant at Fairview (of all places) with fantastic, velvety beef (ginger beef) - I didn’t post a pic. We also had the calamari appetizer and the pad Thai. Both fantastic. In food courts, you get these same foods and all you taste is oil and salt. Zero flavour profile. Listen, bottom line, come to this place and not only will you not be disappointed, you’ll jump on and write a review before you leave.
