Claremont Country Depot/Restaurant (Thai, Indian, Pizza etc)

Literally the best experience. Normally, if you see such a wide variety of cuisines, there's some portions that are good and the others fall short. Our table had everything from Pizza to Butter Chicken to Burgers and Soup and it was all perfect ❤️ 10/10 recommend and would dine here again! Thanks to the staff. They were lovely and super pleasant!

We wanted some takeout and my husband found this restaurant when searching as we are new to the area. It may not look fancy, but the food and customer service are excellent! The owner is so friendly and nice. The salads are fresh, not bagged lettuce. One of the best Greek chicken salads I’ve had, the homemade curry dish was delicious. Good quantities for price. We will definitely be going back here. So glad we found this neighborhood hidden gem. .

We chose from a menu that offered a WIDE choice. Lemongrass coconut chicken soup for me - absolutely delicious! - and 3 eggs with bacon, fries and toast - a hubby pleaser! - made us agree that our first visit to the Claremont Country Restaurant would definitely not be our last ! Owner Bala Nedumaran brought our lunch out and served it with a side order of the most genial conversation you could wish for! If you're out Claremont way, you owe it to yourself to stop by here!

Hidden jem, owner is absolutely hilarious. He should have his own tv show. For was great we had the ultimate burger combo ($17), and butter chicken poutine ($16) and a order of 4 samosa for only $4. Burger was giant and the butter chicken was absolutely Amazing. We traveled from Bowmanville on a recommendation, and we will return

Convenient little one stop shop with great food and an extremely friendly owner. We dined in and had veggie samosas, wings, steak dinner and butter chicken and enjoyed everything. Also took home 2 chicken souvlaki dinners for my parents and they both enjoyed as well. Prices are reasonable. Would recommend, a must try and worth the drive if you live nearby, only 15 min from Stouffville! Thanks so much Bala, we will be back.

Looks like a convenience store but the food is excellent. Very authentic Indian cuisine just out of town on a sideroad in Claremont. The flavors jump off the plate especially on the butter chicken. The only thing lacking was the Naan which could have been a bit more substantial. The service was excellent and by the amount of orders for take out and the happy people showing up you can tell this is a local favorite.

TL:DR version: good food period. Long version: I want to call this a hidden gem, but there’s signs for it all around the Clarendon area - that being said Clarendon isn’t exactly a high traffic area. Regardless, if you live within 50KMs of here, it’s well worth it. We asked the owner what he recommended and ordered that: an “ultimate burger” and butter chicken. He said it was all handmade and made to order and it tasted like it. I can’t say I’ve been anywhere that had a burger AND butter chicken on the menu and both being delicious. Highly recommended, we’ll be back!
