I ordered whole mozzarella hot dog with ramen chips. The ramen chips were a bit hard and the mozzarella was a bit tough right away, but overall good taste and good service.

Chung Chun Rice Hotdog at Hillcrest Mall is definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and craving a fun, tasty snack. Situated conveniently within the mall, it’s the kind of place that’s perfect for grabbing a quick bite while you shop or if you need a little fuel to keep you going. I’ve had my fair share of hot dogs, but Korean rice hotdogs are a different experience altogether – they’re a combination of crunch, savoury goodness, and a variety of different flavour combinations that make them quite unique compared to the regular corn dog. One thing that immediately stood out was the impressive selection of flavours. The menu at Chung Chun Rice Hotdog has something for just about every taste. They offer a range of fillings and toppings, and you can pick from both savoury and sweet options. The cheese pull from the mozzarella was definitely Instagram-worthy. If you’re someone who loves a savoury, cheesy treat, this place will certainly hit the spot. They also have options that cater to those who like something sweet – adding sugar dusting or choosing fillings like custard or even sweet potato gives a different kind of satisfaction if you’re more of a dessert person. The service here was decent. While I wouldn’t say it was outstanding, the staff was polite and efficient, and they kept the line moving, which I appreciated. Chung Chun can get quite busy, especially during weekends when the mall is packed, and you might find yourself waiting a bit. Thankfully, the wait wasn’t too long, and you can see the staff making each hotdog fresh to order, which explains the extra time. As for the price, I’d say it’s pretty fair for what you’re getting. Each hotdog runs you around $7 to $10, depending on the type and hotdog you get. Given the quality and the fact that they’re made fresh to order, I found the pricing to be reasonable. They’re quite filling too, so even though it’s technically a snack, it’s substantial enough to tide you over for a while. Compared to other mall food court options, it’s a nice change of pace if you’re tired of the usual fast-food joints and want to try something a little different. Overall, I’d give Chung Chun Rice Hotdog Hillcrest a solid four stars. It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun, different snack that’s well-executed, with plenty of flavours to choose from. The service was decent, and the quality of the hotdogs themselves was pretty impressive. If you find yourself at Hillcrest Mall and want something tasty and a little out of the ordinary, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. xx kellychan360

Chong's hot dogs were delicious and arrived in great condition—hot and fresh! My family and I enjoyed every bite. Would definitely order again. Though not the healthiest food to have every day.

The hot dogs were delicious, we had the sweet potato and the chicken nugget. Speedy service, patient gentleman serving us, and the store was clean. Great experience overall, would definitely come back for a visit!

I was craving for a snack bite after roaming Hillcrest Mall and picked Chung Chun rice dog to satisfying my craving. I had the classic Gamsung potato fries rice dog on a stick for $7 topped by my choice of sauces. It did the job as a quick fun bite. The rice dog wasn’t perhaps the best I’ve had at Chung Chun previously but it was probably the best value at Hillcrest food court!

Price - $5-$8 per item From here I ordered the 1) Chungchun hot dog original 2) Sweet potato hot dog 3) Ramen chung hotdog The batter was fluffy, and not overly oily. I would suggest they could be done a tad 10-15 seconds longer. 1) their original is honestly their best. The flakes that come covered on this are better to eat in smaller bites. 2) the sweet potato chunks that cover this hotdog are tasty but make it rather difficult to eat 3) ouch, as much as the flavor was there, the ramen tends to scrape your mouth. Again taste was great, not my forte but at least I tried and can express about my experience. Service here was a tad awkward, the language barrier had me rush my order and blind side what options I actually wanted. Atmosphere of the shop front is very basic, plain, doesn't really seem to inviting. Their menu was on pause... And clearly could see the name of the video title and the play button. Their options are not very clear, like which you can adjust the toppings and which you cannot. Example don't order their original dog thinking you can put different toppings on. As they have set items, it's literally just order the menu item. Not sure why they have the option to add toppings.

I was here on a random Tuesday about noon time. It wasn't that busy. I ordered Gamsung hotdog (hotdog covered in potato cubes) and cheddar cheese hotdog. It was ready in 5 mins, rather quick. The guys working here are so friendly. While I was lining up, the family in front of me asking all kinds of questions about toppings and all that, but the guys were so patient answering their questions. The hotdogs were delicious and the experience were pleasant. I recommend trying Chung Chun Rice Dog when you visit Hillcrest Mall next time. A little history of Korean style corn dogs and myself: It was 2013, during my first trip to Seoul, I came across Korean style corn dogs covered in potato cubes. It was heaven and I fell in love instantly. I thought of it all time ever since. It was a nice surprise to see a few Korean style corn dog stores landed in Toronto years ago. I tried many of them. I have to say, so far Chung Chun Rice Dog gives me the most authentic taste that brings back wonderful memories from my trip in 2013.
