Chula Taberna Mexicana

Didn't love the food (except for the churros) as the flavours were pretty flat (burrito was cold in the middle) but there is a lot of potential. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the drinks but will go back to try as I did enjoy the atmosphere. Check out their website as they have daily specials worth checking out.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was decently busy. Our server was super nice and patient. The menu has enough variety but isn’t super extensive either. The food we had was tasty and some dishes were unique, but a bit on the pricier side if you’re looking at tacos. Really enjoyed the churros so I’d recommend that dish!

Didn't think they could top my 1st visit but you guys certainly did. Your bartender Tom and co-worker Bobby made my brother Chris and I warm in the soul with phenomenal service and friendly chat and to die for Tacos. Thanks to your whole staff for providing such a great feel, your Restaurant deserves 100 Stars!! A must visit when visiting Toronto!!

Chula Tuberna is a delightful Mexican restaurant that truly stands out. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The menu features a wide variety of traditional dishes, all bursting with authentic flavors. I highly recommend the tacos—they’re fresh and flavorful, also churros with caramel sause would be my all time favorite to have. The margaritas are also a highlight, refreshing and perfectly balanced. Service is friendly and attentive, making for a great dining experience. Overall, Chula Tuberna is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Mexican cuisine.🧑‍🍳

Guac was good. Tacos were ok. $6.50 margs on Mondays. They tasted kinda watered down. Service was good, and the patio was nice.

Had an amazing night at Chula. We started with the zucchini fritters which were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would say it’s very comparable to falafel, and the sauce and garnishes nicely complemented the fritters. I’ve had many tacos around the city but these tacos were exceptional, 10/10 across the board! The birria was nice and tender and went very nicely with the consome. The smoked chicken was also very flavourful. I also loved the crispy fish taco, which had a very pleasant crispy outside and tender inside. We ended the night with the churro donut sundae which was the perfect sweet ending! The churro was the perfect combination of crunchy and soft. Just like the food, the customer service was fantastic! Our server helped explain the menu items and recommended some great options. He made our experience even better and also made a great mango habanero margarita! Will definitely be coming back!

Had an awesome time at Chula Taberna Mexicana! The food was tasty—loved the Mexican Street Corn, Dos Amigos, Adobo Mushroom, and Spicy Shrimp tacos, it is their signature The prices were reasonable. The vibe was really chill, and the decor added a nice touch to the whole experience. The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home. What really stood out was how they handled the bill. They gave us a paper with a QR code, so we could just pay online with Apple Pay or Google Pay, no fuss, no stress, and they didn’t even check if we paid right away. Super convenient and just a cool place overall. Definitely worth checking out!

Came in with a group of 9 and was grateful to sit in the air conditioned indoor seating back section (humid and hot out) Bobby / Robert was our most excellent host ~ wait staffer, being both hospitable and energetic friendly! Thanks also to the other wait staff that pitched in to assist! Food - decent guacamole and deep fried tortilla chips. I ordered chicken enchiladas. While not my 1st choice after eating it, due to the exterior layer being more thick & ‘bready’ than expected, the sauce was still nice and light with the filling having a substantial amount of chicken. They has some other untraditional Mexican dishes, such as beef short ribs with potatoes and also scallops & adobo aioli (I wanna try this one next time!!!) Dessert, we shared a tres leches with ‘fried’ ice cream. Loved the thin crispy layer on the ice cream. The cake was more of lovely vanilla cake with cream vs a traditionally soaked-thru cake in milk tres leches. We would come again to try the scallops, as it looked amazing (someone else had it on our table) and because the staff was so great! (find me on IG via @aida.loves )
