Chuck's Roadhouse Bar & Grill

I rated the food at a 5, because I have previously gone to dinner at this location, and the food was excellent. The service we received from our waitress was very good too, not too much, not too little attention. My review at 2 stars is mainly for our disappointing experience tonight. With an out of town guest staying with me, we called the Ontario Street location to ask about their Wings, Rings & Fingers menu item. The menu we were looking at online did not mention how much of each item was included with the meal, so we called to verify to ensure everyone in our 4 person family had enough food for their dinner. A man with an accent answered the phone, and already seemed 'done' with the conversation after just saying hello. We figured maybe the restaurant was just very busy, or he was already having a bad night. We asked how many of each item was included, and he sounded very confused & asked what we meant by our question... So we clarified the question by asking how many wings, how many onion rings and how many chicken fingers were provided in 1 meal specifically. What we thought...was a very simple question. He told us "I don't know." When we asked to speak to someone who would be able to answer the question for us so we were able to order some food to take out, he told us that we could just speak to him... We were in a very very awkward situation because we just wanted to speak to someone who could help us, this man couldn't answer our question, but he downright refused to let us speak to anyone else in the restaurant. Extremely odd. He then accused us of yelling at him, which we absolutely did not do, we only asked for help, he told us to call back in the morning, then he hung up. But we wanted to order food for our dinner... We were very confused. So we called back, hoping to speak to someone else. He answered again, and said thanks for calling, and hung up on us. He proceeded to ignore phone calls after that. The kids were excited to eat from Chuck's, so my guest from out of town then drove all the way to the location, and asked a waitress how many of each item was provided. She was new, but was very quick at providing us with an answer directly from the kitchen. (Thank you for your customer service!) Just so nobody ever has to deal with this themselves... There's 4 wings, 4 onion rings, & 4 chicken strips provided in the meal. Not enough for a family of 4, which is all we wanted to know. We did end up ordering 2X16 wings 16 BBQ & 16 medium. The meal ended up being very good. I'm just disappointed that it took my guest going out of their way to be able to fix the situation.

Excellent service and good atmosphere. The quality of the food needs to be improved. Fries are less fresh, rib is over cooked. Sorry that I have to take one star away from you. Hope next time will see improvement.

Very nice place, like the lower lever. Very large restaurant Loved the food Only problem was the bathroom really needed major cleaning Told the waitress, hopefully they cleaned it All in all great food and service

We went for lunch. I had the strawberry pecan salad and my husband had the chuck burger and fries. The pop was nice and fizzy, the burger and fries were good! My salad was absolutely delicious!!! My tummy was very happy!! Lol! Maddi N was our waitress. She was excellent!! Also the prices are great!!

This location urgently needs new management and a complete staff overhaul. Training is desperately needed. Every visit starts the same: we wait up to 10 minutes at the host station without any acknowledgment. When the host finally arrives, they’re unfriendly and lead us to a table without a word. The dining area often has uncleared tables long after guests leave. To avoid long waits, we order drinks and food together. While the prices are budget-friendly, especially on Wednesdays with $15 full racks of ribs, the service is inconsistent. Most servers are unfriendly, make mistakes, and rarely check on us. The staff generally appear disengaged and uninterested in being there. The restaurant is also poorly maintained. Restrooms are filthy and don’t seem to have been properly cleaned in years, which raises concerns about the kitchen. If you can overlook the poor service and cleanliness, it’s a cheap option, but that’s about it.

The food is good for cheap pub grub and the pricing is great. This location needs new management, however. We went in after golf on a super hot summer day and the AC was turned off. Was BOILING hot in the dining area - can't imagine what the kitchen was like. I've also had service issues with this manager (service staff are GREAT). Ordered salt and pepper wings. When the wings came they were plain so I asked the manager about it. He just looked at me and literally said "...salt and pepper are on the table..." and walked away. If you don't have something on the menu, tell the person at the time of ordering. No problem. No need to be rude about it after the fact.

We came for a dinner recently, food was great, drinks are pretty good and affordable, and our server was friendly and attentive, but I was little disappointed when we walked in and had to wait for someone to just acknowledge us for a long time then I had to come up to ask for a table then got told to keep waiting still, which left us not on a really good first impression. They looked a bit understaffed for a Monday night which I understand if they’re busy but the management and organization still need some improvement.

It’s a very relaxed and homely feeling. Food tastes great and service is awesome. My favourite item is the loaded fries. Recommend trying the butter toffee pudding. It’s a rich delight.
