Chris Jerk

Almost as good as their Scarborough location! My friends and I stopped by on a saturday after a badminton session. This was my first time eating at this new location but I was surprised to see how spacious the interior was. Tons of parking in the plaza and they have an interesting setup now. You order at the front when you walk in and then you can wait for your food if you got takeout or you can DINE IN now. That's right. They have a massive dining room to the right of the ordering counter now. Anyways, I saw a bunch of new stuff that I didn't previously see at the Scarborough location but my friends had never even tried the Scarbs location so we opted for classic this time around. Jerk chicken entree, oxtail entree, jerk shrimp pasta (which was the daily special) and some cow foot soup. The pasta and soup I had never tried at Chris Jerk before so that was unique. They were just ok imo. The oxtail and chicken still reign supreme. We also ordered some drinks on the side to share: coconut water, peardrax (a fizzy pear drink) and a grapefruit Ting (another fizzy drink). The Ting was our consensus first pick. Spice and flavour-wise it tasted just as good as their OG spot but certain things like the cooking of the plantains (they used to have a glaze on the outside), the tenderness of the oxtail, the moistness of the rice seemed to be just a TAD better done at the original location. We saw Chris and his wife hard at work making our food in the kitchen! Chris actually came over to ask us if we were influencers due to the amount of food we ordered lol. Still a super chill guy. Will be back to this location with my friends for sure!

Tried here for the first time and we will definitely go back here. Everything was seasoned well just spicy enough but not too spicy. But you know spice is a subjective measurement. We had really great service to go along with the good food. So if you’re in the area give it a try for sure. We will be back here soon.

Always impressed with Chris Jerk and more so with the new Markham location. Ordered the oxtail meal and chicken shawarma meal. Both were incredible. Went towards the end of the night for takeout and it was delicious. Ordered ahead so service was fast and friendly. Portions were plentiful and prices reasonable. Loved the vibe of the atmosphere, everything new and clean.

Absolute gem of a spot!!! Came here for the first time after hearing so many people rave about Chris Jerk. Ordered take-out Oxtail, and shawarma chicken. Service was top notch. Everybody was super friendly and made good conversation. Food was immaculate. BIG portions. Juicy & tender meat. Saucy and delicious. My new go-to!!!

The food is legit! Jerk Chicken has nice nutmeg kick to it. The Ox Tail was yummy, not over braised. Gravy on the rice was very yummy, tasted home made and real. The fried plantain are always yummy. Take-out was $40 for 2. I would only say that the service is pretty slow. my order took 15 minutes to pack and legit everything was always pre-cooked pre-made. The Birchmount location has lots more customers and I can justify a longer wait. In the 15 minutes I waited for the my take-out, they only served 3 maybe 4 other orders..

I went here with my family. Portions were generous, and all the food was delicious. My only critique is that some of the food was lacking spice which is what I’m more accustomed to. The King Fish was our favourite. Place is spacious and clean, and not too busy for dine.

This new location itself is a great spot. It has a dine in option and the ambiance is great and kept clean. The service was pretty good given that i went during rush hour. The meal i felt could be a bit more flavourful. The jerk chicken was cooked well but was not seasoned properly.

I've been the Chris Jerk's Birchmount location plenty in the past but it's a further for me from where I live now and hence haven't been going much. I was very happen to see them open a Markham location though and thought I'd check it out. The food is just as good as I remembered it with very generous portions and flavourful rice & peas and sides. Most jerk places I've been to are largely take-out only or have *very* limited seating, but the Markham location does have a some decent seating available. I didn't take any pics because there were people sitting in them enjoying their food when I was there, but it's nice, bright and spacious in there. Glad they opened up one closer to me, I'll be back again (and again)!
