I’m a Korean who really loves Korean food, but it’s not easy to find authentic Korean restaurants in Toronto, Canada. I particularly enjoy dak-galbi, but whenever I try to make it at home, I can never quite replicate the taste from Korea, and I often end up with a lot of liquid. Recently, I discovered a takeout dak-galbi place in Toronto, and when I made it using their packaged ingredients, it tasted just like what I would get in Chuncheon! My kids loved it too, and it truly captured that familiar flavor from home. Additionally, the perilla oil cold noodles were absolutely delicious. I usually get an upset stomach after eating noodle dishes, but this one was easy on my stomach and had a wonderfully nutty flavor. I highly recommend it! If you’re craving authentic Korean dak-galbi, be sure to check this place out!

I came with my family. We had soy chicken mayo rice bowl, 2 soy chicken skewers and dakgalbi fried rice. Everyone loved the food, including my 8 YO daughter. Will definitely be back.

As a person born and raised the origin of Dakgalbi (Korean Spicy Chinken BBQ), this is the best yet Dakgalbi place in town for sure. Strongly recommend the meal kits but Dakgalbi Udon and Ssambap are amazing.

Omomg Never expected this flavor and portion with reasonable price. I bought the meal kits of Chunchun Sutbul ane Chulpan Dakgalbis. Following their instruction on their QR code, it was really amazing!! I had to open Soju which I reserved for the weekend. Also, stir-fried rice on the same sauce is the most killing point, everyone should try it.

I grabbed lunch from Choondak after someone recommended it. I had the spicy chicken skewers and the Dak Kalbi fried rice. The fried rice is so flavourful! It’s spicy, sweet, sour from the kimchi, savoury from the chunks of chicken and herb-y from perilla leaves and seeds. Texture is crunchy and Soft chunks of rice cakes are in the rice too! It was portion is perfect size for lunch. I added skewers to try the chicken on its own and it did not disappoint. It’s not too sweet, savoury, creamy from the mayo sauce and a bit Smokey. Everything I tried today was so good. Would definitely go again. Will try the meal kits and noodles next time.

If you want to taste the flavors of Korea, I highly recommend trying dakgalbi. The era of bulgogi has passed lol, Choondak recently opened a shop, offering prepped meal kits and lunch menus. I highly recommend checking it out! Their dakgalbi is truly delicious, a must-try!
