Chingu Korean Restaruant 친구

Great no frills Korean restaurant. Prices are similar to their competitors. Kimchi was nicely fermented and spicy. A little heavy on the salt for some dishes. I wish they had more banchan variety. Service can be a little slower but we don’t mind. Food was tasty. We will be back as it is a great local find. Owners were very kind and attentive.

Local neighbourhood Korean restaurant, run by Mom and her son. We got there around 5:30 just before the rush which starts around 6:30p. It was very quiet inside.. whisper quiet, even with a few tables served, no music playing, we were the loudest table. Pork bone soup was yummy, the seafood pancake was great too. Unfortunately the Kkan Pung Ki chicken had a tasty fried dough exterior but there was hardly any chicken inside. Save your $35 on this dish! Disappointing! Decor was very bland, bright atmosphere, only pictures of menus on the walls.

Visited Chingu after having a big craving for Korean food and was looking for something local and nothing too fancy like a lot of the new restaurants that have popped up. The food here was so tasty, reasonably priced and the service was the best part. I believe it is a mother/son duo and they are both so lovely, attentive and warm. You truly feel like your food is being prepared by a family. Like I mentioned it might not be a fancy restaurant but the way you feel cannot be replicated by any of the newer/ more expensive restaurants popping up. I hope Chingu stays in the community for a long long time! 🙂 Ps. we’ve already been twice in two weeks hehe - Your friend

We were in Richmond Hill and decided on Korean food. We found this place on Google. It was Sunday afternoon and we were the only seated customers. They had some take out customers and lots of deliveries. We were served immediately by a pleasant waitress. The menu was extensive and there was a large selection of food choices. I ordered a beef dish and it was served piping hot. I was hoping for more beef in my meal but the vegetables it came with were tasty. Meals were a bit pricey.

I would say that this is the best Korean restaurant in the area simply because of the food quality. It's a hidden gem in a quiet plaza on Bayview just south of Elgin Mills.

The lady working there is such a sweetheart. You need to flag her down when you're ready, otherwise you wait. Honestly, shes so nice that you'd be willing to wait. The food portions are good and most of the meals come with rice. Very delicious!

Lovely little Korean restaurant serving a simple homey menu. They offer typical dishes and soups as well as BBQ and alcohol. They also have some good combos. Their prices are a bit higher than your average around the area but their flavours are on point. They're also generous with the side dishes, each person got their own serving. Service was good. There were two single stall washrooms. They did however mention that they're closed at 9pm when Google says 10pm so make sure you call in advance.

Jan 11/20 Another nice visit. May 4/19 Back again and simply love this place. First review They have some great tasting dishes. First time here and we were impressed with the quality of the food and pricing. Portion size is fine and service was very good. We will be back for sure as we found a special spot for that Korean craving.
