Chinese dumplings house Casserole (真东北砂锅菜)

We were craving dumplings and we were not disappointed. Dumplings were all very tasty and plump. They have a sauce bar so we could be very creative with our dumpling sauce. They recently did renovations to make it half dumpling and half ma la tang restaurant. Loved how you can order from either restaurant. We ordered one ma la tang and shared it to try. It was delicious too. Great to be able to eat both at once. Service was great. Waiter was very attentive, and helped explain everything well.

Had a lovely experience at the Chinese Dumpling House. They just renovated and added the Mala tang hot pot section. I went for the dumplings and they were solid. Ordered the chicken and mushroom dumplings, garlic a-choy and shrimp fried rice. Good portion size and not overly oily. The owner/manager was lovely to talk to - he offered us free popsicle sticks afterwards and green tea. Will be back soon!

Came here for dinner after the renovation -- interesting addition of ma la tang to the regular dinner menu 😂 Service was great and friendly! Menu items were fairly authentic North Eastern cuisine that reminded me of my childhood -- very happy that there's such a location in Mississauga 👍

This place just went from our favourite lunch spot to the worst ever experience…. They recently went through renovations and we were so excited to be back. They open at 11. I did my usual call to preorder at 11:15 since we’re on a time crunch. No one picked up. I tried again at 11:25. The menu changed so i wasnt able to get all our usual items but i placed my order. We arrived at 11:33. Food used to be waiting on the table ready. Clearly not, and no one led me to a table. I sat myself down and prompted them for tea, extra set of cutlery and condiments which used to be on the table. We waited.. and waited.. and waited. The noodles came around 15mins in. We devoured it in seconds cuz we were starving and we stared at that empty plate and waited.. and waited. We did come for dumplings after all…. The dumplings finally showed up at 12:15. We were so annoyed at that point we couldn’t even enjoy it. Lets not even talk about how it doesnt taste the same anymore. Asked for the bill immediately, chugged a few dumplings and we had to go. Server did apologize and explained they were swamped with delivery orders. She came back with another bill that gave us 20% off. But that doesn’t compensate for the stressful hungry lunch we experienced and definitely not at par with our regular expectations. This place brought us so much happiness during our short lunches. It was good while it lasted. So disappointed my coworkers said we wont come back again.

Went for lunch on a Saturday with 3 adults. Restaurant is located in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants and stores. The place was empty with only a couple of customers. Place is older, Chinese syle dining with big round tables for larger groups. We ordered beef with onion platter, home style Tofu, stir fried noodle seafood dish, and pan fried pork dumplings - 6 pieces. We didn't have to wait long and food came within 15 minutes. It was fresh and hot. Beef dish was good, flavourful but on the oily side. The homestyle Tofu the server mentioned it would be deep fried and when we got the dish, it wasn't what I expected because it wasn't deep fried, it was soft with sauce and veggies around it. The same with the noodles, while it was good, didn't expect it to be the fatter noodles and it was not crispy at all and limited amount of seafood in the dish. The pork dumplings were good. We did not order the dumplings because it was 15 pieces and that was too much for us, but curious to try it next time. Server came not often to check on us even though it was not busy. He came when we got his attention. We had leftovers to take home and bill was around $60 with no tip yet.

We stopped in here because we were craving some dumplings and there aren't that many good dumpling places in Sauga like the options available downtown. The dumplings themself were pretty good, but the seasoning (salt specifically) were hit and miss. Some of them you don't need any dip, some are salty, and some were bland, so it was a bit of a choose your own adventure dumpling plate. The chicken in chili oil was good, the lamb skewers were only ok.

Here on May 24, 2024. Not sure why this place doesn’t have more good reviews. I have been here 6 times. Their dumplings and noodles are made fresh and quite good. Some stir fried dishes are very good too especially Spicy beef with peppers. What’s good? - the Price !!! With today’s inflation this restaurant’s price still feels like 2019! Most steam dumplings are $11-12 with 15 pieces!! Pan fried dumpling is only $7.99!!! Most noodles are $11-12 too. Try to find that in today’s market !!!! - pan fried dumplings are good. 6 big pieces and juicy - Singapore rice noodle is huge portion for only $12. You can tell they have high heat for stir fry. Good flavor. - chives pocket is good - many vegetarian dumplings options if you are into that. Give this place a try if you are lookin for very reasonable food. Not the best but they don’t cost a fortune!!

This is absolutely a disappointing visit. I believe the dumplings are freshly made in the store. However, it is still not even up to standard. Although I like the size of it (a bit smaller than those usual dumplings you could get in grocery stores), the dumplings are salty itself. Basically, you can only taste salty but not anything else. This is a restaurant with only tables and chairs as decorations. There is no decoration at all. However, price wise is on the high side. The portion is not even comparable with other similar restaurants nearby. The interior is kind of greasy everywhere. With what you have to pay, you could get better dishes and cook nicely with reasonable portions elsewhere. The fish fillet hot pot we ordered was only carrying a few chunks of small fish fillets and was full of vegetables. (You can see my pictures) To the service, I would believe the guy who took the order is one of the owners. He was courteous. Nevertheless, I will not recommend it.
