Their quality went down hill when the current female owner took over. She lies about what is fresh, asked to see if shrimp was fresh and she refused, that tells you all you need to know about this 1 star restaurant.

Placed an order last week. For fried rice and spring rolls. The food was very bad quality and wasn’t worth the money. As others have stated it made me very sick. The owner told us when we bought our food that she will give us a can of pop and spring rolls if we place rate their restaurant 5 stars on google. Some members of my family did the same and hours later ended up with food poisoning.

Chef Chan is the best take-out Chinese restaurant in Barrie! Their house fried rice is absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The Szechuan chicken is a must-try; it has just the right amount of spice and is incredibly satisfying. The prices are fantastic, offering great value for the generous portions. The staff is always friendly and efficient, making the ordering process a breeze. If you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine to enjoy at home, Chef Chan is the place to go! Highly recommend!

We have been ordering from ChefChan for many years ,sometimes with various level of satisfaction, but for the most part the food was always fresh. We ordered Saturday evening and it was awful! service was off hand, the food especially the vegetables were not fresh and that’s a first. The whole menu was practically inedible, a huge disappointment and complete waste of money, most ended in the compost container.Needless to say we will never, ever order from Chef Chan again.

My husband went to this location to order dinner. He purchased Tai Dop, Egg Roll, and Won Ton soup. The soup was very bland. The egg roll was ok. But he could not eat the the Tai Dop and attempted to return the whole container the next day. The dish, as per their menu, did not contain any snow peas or shrimp and was tasteless. The person who he reported this too did offer to add snow peas (at this point the dish is 18 hours old). My husband asked for a refund for the dish but was refused. He left the dish with them and promised them he would not return. In the past, this restaurant had high reviews but is continuously going downhill now so we will seek another restaurant for future Chinese takeout.

Worse experience and product AGAIN!! Ordered chicken with diced vegetables and almonds. When I opened the container it had One piece of broccoli, 3 thin slices of carrots, a few pieces of celery and 99 percent onions. The flavor of the chicken was off and had most likely been boiled! NEVER AGAIN! I will drive across the city to Asia Wok before I ever spend my money on this place, and this food!

Chef chan has been my go to Chinese food restaurant in Barrie for the last 5 years. Always consistent, great service, and amazing food. I highly recommend them if you’re in the area!
