Chaska Indian Street Food

It’s literally snowing outside, not sure why I’m craving ice cream with this weather lol but their kesar pistacho ice cream is so good!!! Pretty decent price for the portion and quality of ice cream. I haven’t had any of their food but the menu is vast and has great prices, especially during late night hours or daily deals. Atmosphere is really fun and clean too. Lots of seating and makes for a great casual spot. Service is good as well, the two guys working the counter tonight were super nice. Would definitely come back to see what’s up with their dishes. :)

Food taste is good. Portions are really small - one serving has to be sufficient for one person - it certainly isn’t. Please see the picture which is supposed to be a 12 (16?) ounce bowl…which they only fill halfway…so how can it be sold as a 12 (16?) ounce bowl….that’s shortchanging your customer & will work against you in the long run. Service is average. Staff know little to nothing about the food. No system in place. I waited 25 minutes for my order because the staff decided to serve someone who came after me first. Atmosphere - well done up with good ambiance. The door does not shut and needs to be fixed.

WHAT A FUN PLACE. Good music. And desi ambiance. Feels like you’re on a road trip. The food was a 10/10. We had fish and paneer pakoras with fries. LOVELY. The Bhalla Chaat with Papri was AMAYZINGGGGGG !! My son had Paani Puri which he absolutely loved. The Cutting Chai and Dirty Chai were superb. Everything was lovely. Will definitely return with the discount card we got for future visits. 5 STARS.

Oakville branch- We have been a big fan of Chaska since the day1. No complaints so far! We have come here multiple times. I hope the quality and quantity and the rates stay the same! They do have lot of deals on different occasions. Even the people who serve food are very welcoming, polite and have a smile 🤗😊

Stopped by today for lunch. My 2nd time here. When I walked in, there were no customers in the restaurant, and there was nobody working to take my order. I waited 3 to 5 minutes or so until somebody finally came from the back, but he was on his phone and told me just a minute. I'm not saying the individual was rude when he finally took my order, but he certainly wasn't friendly or welcoming. Very different experience than my first time coming here when the person taking my order was very helpful and friendly. The food overall was pretty good. The garlic naan was a bit overdone so it was more hard than soft, not great for dipping/scooping in my curry. I had the chana masala with Biryani rice. It was pretty good, although it was mostly rice and not a lot of the chana masala. I would skip the samosa next time.

Been here twice so far. So far— great customer service— friendly, smiley folks behind the counter which I feel is getting more rare. I enjoy the free chai refills for dine-in with a caveat. Love that there is a place close by that I can enjoy. But the food needs *a lot* of work. -severely undercooked paratha (can confirm the other 1 star reviews for kathi roll and also undercooked paratha photos— they have not fixed this despite all the 1 star reviews). They made it again for me, and this time the paratha was cooked through, but flattened and dense rather than flakey and light. Edible but not enjoyable the saving grace was the sauce, but the egg was underseasoned and not flavorful. They let me keep the raw one, so I brought it home to cook. A friend stopped by and looked at the paratha they let me keep and confirmed— you could see that it was not cooked. -trying to limit us to 3 refills for chai even at closing time— when there is no sign that says only 3 refills and a completely empty restaurant— especially after serving me undercooked paratha. See photo of me re-cooking the raw paratha at home lol. If you cant cook a paratha to doneness— you have no business serving food. There is a reason this place is empty on Friday nights. Come for a quiet chai if you are in the neighborhood but if these guys cant be trusted to cook a paratha through—- I’d save your meals for home. Ps they promised a free gulab jamun (which did not taste like any gulab jamun ive ever eaten and Ive had a lot— but it wasnt bad, just not what I was expecting) if I left a review. So here it is.
