If you're a biryani lover craving something unique, Charcoal Biryani is a must-try! This dish takes the classic biryani to the next level with a smoky infusion that enhances its rich flavors. The rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant with spices, and layered with tender, juicy pieces of chicken (or your choice of protein). What sets it apart is the subtle yet tantalizing smokiness from the charcoal treatment, which adds depth to every bite. Perfectly spiced, not overpowering, and paired with refreshing raita, this biryani is a flavorful treat that’ll leave you coming back for more!

If you’re a biryani lover, Charcoal Biryani is a must-visit spot! They serve some of the most flavorful biryanis, catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences. The aroma, spices, and perfectly cooked rice create a delightful harmony in every bite. Beyond biryanis, their menu offers a variety of dishes to explore, making it a great destination for groups with diverse tastes. Highly recommended!

I typically leave reviews only when a place stands out—either for being exceptionally outstanding or utterly disappointing. Unfortunately, Charcoal Biryani falls into the latter category. My 1-star rating stems from the following serious issues: 1. False Advertising: I ordered the Charcoal Grilled Kebabs with Salad, which is advertised on the menu (as shown in the picture I’ve shared) as a fresh green leafy salad. However, what I received was a stale, bitter coleslaw that tasted as if it had been left out of the fridge for far too long. 2. Food Taste and Texture: Beyond the subpar salad, the flavor and texture of the kebab were highly disappointing. The hardness of the kebab gave the impression of being multiple days old, likely frozen and thawed repeatedly. This is not the quality one expects from a place in Downtown. 3. Unwelcoming Service: The host, who I assume is also the chef and owner of the eatery, lacked warmth and hospitality. Their demeanor made the experience far less enjoyable, leaving a poor impression. 4. Health and Hygiene Concerns (The Cherry on Top): To make matters worse, the chef/host had a knife mishap, injuring their finger. What was most concerning, however, was that there was no effort to clean or replace the knife, nor to address the chicken that had come into contact during this incident. Such negligence raises serious health and safety concerns. These oversights not only compromised the dining experience but also posed potential health risks. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place. P.S.: I only leave reviews when the experience is either exceptionally great or extremely poor. So, before anyone assumes that I leave only negative reviews, please feel free to check my balanced 50/50 review history. 😊

I hate to give this place 1 star unfortunately the food I had today on Thursday Aug 1 2024 vadapav was absolutely disgusting and not sure how old the product was as it was definitely stale take a look at the picture I had go to order and if I was eating in the food court I would have definitely taken this back for a refund however I didn’t have time to go back. I had to throw out the food in garbage after couple bites as it wasn’t edible. Order biryani and dosas but never order Vadapav Kind of unfortunate to rate them this low as I really enjoy their chicken biryani it is one of the best in the downtown core for lunch.

Absolutely delighted with my dining experience at Charcoal Biryani! The Chole and vegan Biryani was a revelation—perfectly spiced chickpeas .. with fragrant basmati rice, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that left me craving more. The Palak Paneer was equally impressive, with creamy spinach gravy enveloping tender cubes of paneer, making it a standout dish. What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service. Two fantastic servers, always with a smile, ensured that my meal were served promptly and needs were attentively met. Their efficiency and warm demeanor added a personal touch that made the visit memorable. Charcoal Biryani is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. Highly recommended!

This place is a nice go to for quick picks, they have a limited menu but the quality is top notch. The food is always fresh and tastey. I usually get the butter chicken which is always fresh. Their veggies options are also really tastey. There is alot of space to sit close by as well, parking is not really nice here as its downtown. They mainly serve lunch. The staff are super nice and fast. They offered me free tea as well and I really liked it.

An absolutely delicious lunch at Charcoal Biryani in the Commerce Court Food Court. I had the Masala Dosa with soup and raita. Dosa was freshly cooked to order and was crispy and so tasty. The potato mixture inside was perfectly spiced and beautifully complimented the dosa. Soup was hearty and very good. What a wonderful option to have this friendly and fast Indian restaurant serving biryanis and dosas as part of the Commerce Court Food Court. It’s about time. I’ll be back to try the veggie biryani soon!

Delicious Biryani from this women-owned, women-run homestyle kitchen located inside Commerce Court. I come here whenever I want a savoury, hot meal as it's excellent quality and well worth the price. I've eaten here a few times now and have always left full and happy. I appreciate that the food is cooked in small batches to ensure that every meal is served fresh. I've had their samosas as well and they are so tasty! Highly recommend this independent, local business!
