Chao-lay, which means "People of the Sea" in Thai, also refers to local producers in small villages, primarily in Southern Thailand. We've brought this concept to life at Chao lay Thai restaurant by using the freshest local produce to create innovative flavors, blending timeless Thai seafood dishes, and offering vegan options. We are passionate about delivering a unique culinary experience to the Hillcrest villages. We truly appreciate your support during our opening, despite some delays and challenges with food and service. Chao Lay is a must-visit for seafood lovers in Toronto! The fresh ingredients, especially the squid, was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The grilled squid and seafood salad were highlights. The cozy atmosphere, impressive bar, and friendly service made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience at ChaoLay. For the menu was full of delicious moreover well-prepared dish, and the drink selection was top-notch. We got the welcome cocktail drink was so good!

Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. Reminiscent of the authentic taste of street food pad Thai in Bangkok, chao lay uses traditional Thai flavours and exquisite taste! Highly recommend trying.
