I have dined at Chanterelle Bistro many many times and have even gone for my birthday. The food is delicious, hot and plated so elegantly. It’s a cozy restaurant that makes you feel extra special since its smaller, which keeps the intimate feel alive. My servers have always been so nice and check in when needed, fill up my water and wine glass as needed and were accommodating to my dietary restrictions. I will always support a small business especially in my own town. They are a full service restaurant that exceeded my expectations and their bread and hummus is absolutely amazing. I purchase the hummus for special occasions with my own family now. Overall love love love Chanterelle Bistro!

The best place for a romantic date! Unfortunately, it is not a kid's restaurant, but one of the best dining experiences ever. we had our wedding anniversary dinner there. An elegant and delicious place!

Chanterelle is a great restaurant in Bowmanville for a romantic night out or those who like delicious food. With mains starting in the mid $20 range, up to the mid $50, there are choices for every taste and for various budgets. The service is attentive and the menu varied. Highly recommended.

Totally overrated. Not fine dining whatsoever and really not a French bistro (eg no French onion soup). Food is definitely reheated - NOT FRESH. my chicken roulade was totally dry and veggies were burnt. this place wouldn’t survive in Toronto. Quality standards are obviously lower in Bowmanville

Chanterelle Bistro in Bowmanville is excellent. Always great service and excellent food and menu. Wonderful wine list and they make great cocktails. Happy to support this restaurant; consistently a great experience. Bread with roasted red pepper hummus, spicy crab cake starter, beef bourguignon, 10oz strip sirloin, and flourless chocolate cake.

We celebrated my birthday here about two weeks ago. The food was hit and miss. The lobster risotto and the steak were delicious. The baked mussel starter was also good. We had also ordered the arctic char and it wasn’t good at all - it was deep fried, oily and lacked flavour. The Caesar salad was mediocre and the baguette with liver mousse - had a gamey taste. Granted the baguette with mousse just likely isn’t intended for our taste preference. The waitress was nice but she seemed quite awkward and unauthentic. Her smile seemed forced. Not sure if she was tired after a long day but it was clear she didn’t care to interact with us. Overall it’s good depending on what you order.

Celebrated our anniversary here and had a phenomenal time. Tara was our waitress and she was fantastic. We ordered Oyster Rockefeller, Lobster Tail Risotto, Angus Steak and White and Dark Chocolate mousse for dessert. Food was delicious from start to finish so no complaints here. Highly recommend!
