This was my third visit to Caren’s — consistently good food and warm, friendly, professional service. I love the back section of the restaurant with the fireplace. Very cozy. The Prosecco was served at the perfect temperature - which is so often not the case. Also, amazing coffee!

My first cheese fondue experience and absolutely loved it! Our server was extremely sweet and her recommendation on the white wine was on point. The french onion soup had generous portion and very flavourful. Perfect ending to our delicious meal- the yummy chocolate fondue. Overall experience was amazing!

We were so happy to find this place! My boyfriend is French and was delighted to eat authentic French cuisine. We ordered the classic fondue with a few sides and it was delicious. We will definitely return!

I love this restaurant but I had a really weird experience with service this Friday night. I am sober and I asked if they had any non-alcoholic beer available. They had one so I ordered. It was brought out with a glass and I poured it out without thinking. I took a sip and my server came back and said wait that’s a regular beer! I appreciate the save and the concern but this was a really big mistake on their part. They brought me out the correct beer and that was that. I don’t think they did enough to apologize or recover the incident- my beer or meal should have been comped. I am lucky I’m a strong person and I wasn’t triggered by this experience and I’m sharing this so hopefully they can learn from this.

What a delightful experience. Love this are of Toronto. Went on a Monday evening for dinner. The service was excellent. The food and drinks were delicious. Very clean restaurant with a cozy feel. Definitely returning for their piano night!

Had a beautiful night here with my husband and one of my best friends. I always see this when I pass by so it’s been on my “to try” list for a bit. They were gracious enough to let us dine even if we were 20 mins late (because Toronto traffic is the worst, even if we left an hour in advance). The ambience was great and we also had the pleasure of having someone play the piano during dinner. The service was excellent too - they were very attentive and gave good recommendations especially with the wine. I’m a bit disappointed with the food. It was okay but did not wow me. We had the following dishes: - the chicken liver pâté (which was too dense and the ratio to bread was… well, too much pâté for not so much bread), - the French onion soup (my friend had it and the sherry seemed too strong), - husband had the burger (it was moist and good but the bottom burger bun was just too soggy), - the steak frites (well done here 👍🏼 cooked to preferred doneness and frites were very well seasoned and had a great crunch and crisp to them), - the flourless chocolate torte (loved the chocolate flavour but it was waaaaay to dense, or maybe too chilled), - and the apple tarte tatin (very disappointed with this one… it really did not deliver at all. Sorry, it was just sad… the plating, the flavour, no caramelization, the crust… should’ve tried the crème brûlée instead). Oh! The steps to the washroom was very steep. Just be careful. But the washrooms were very clean and well kept with cute decor too. Glad we were able to try this place. Would’ve wanted to try their fondue but will save that for the next visit.

I've been to Carens 3 times now and each time it has been amazing. I've had the following dishes: each one was delicious! Chorizo mac and cheese Both types of cheese fondue...both served with bread and sometimes with apples Steak frites French onion soup (probably the best French onion soup I've had) Chocolate fondue with assorted fruits, marshmallows, and banana bread. I will definitely be going to Carens again and again!

Booked for dinner for a friends birthday. Had such an amazing experience. The food is Devine! Atmosphere is very classic Service very high end. We ordered cheese fondue Cream of tomato soup French onion soup Tuna steak with mushroom risotto Scallops with mushroom risotto Duck confit The chef heard of one person severe allergy and made such accommodations to ensure safety. Everything was delicious so much flavour The owner Karen was super accommodating and ensure we had a great night out. The best side was the in-house bean dip. It is so good! If I could do more stars I would give 10
