Captain’s Fried Chicken

What a great place, we have ordered a few times and never disappointed. The chicken sandwich is amazing. Potato wedges, mashed potatoes, chicken tenders are also good. I would highly recommend.

This is my first time ordering from here and I order on Uber eats just a few moments ago and I don’t remember the name but whoever worked during November 26th at around 2:20 am gave the best and most excellent customer service and should be appreciated for his dedication towards providing an excellent service and goal my above and beyond thanks to him I’ll be visiting this restaurant whenever I am in the area. I believe his name was Yuvraj if I’m not mistaken. Again thank you for showing effort and compassion

Came here on October 18, 2024. I am always on the hunt for a good fried chicken. I saw Captain last week and figured I would try it this week. I got 4-piece Super Tenders and my friend got 3-piece chicken with wedges. The Good: 1. Fresh and Pretty Fast! Everything seems to be made in fresh. From my previous experience with fried chicken places that only do it fresh, they usually take a long time to prepare. I would say we only wait for about 10 mins. 2. Tenders are very tender ! I definitely prefer tenders over their bone-in chicken. 3. Big portion. The 3pc chicken with wedges have so many wedges. —— Things to Improve: 1. More seasoning. I understand they focus on the dipping sauce but I prefer chicken to have more seasoning. Definitely include some spicy seasoning. Dave’s Hot Chicken is full of flavor and spicy. More seasoning on potato wedges too 2. Spicy or Smokey seasoning on the Tenders would be so cool imo. This place has very fresh stuff. Try it out.

Ordered the 3 piece chicken and their burger. Both came with fries and onion rings. While the burger was delicious and tasty, the chicken was just okay. Nothing bad; but I’ve had better chicken. Nothing sort of blew me away or as if the chicken tasted something special, it’s a normal fried chicken. Overall a pleasant experience as staff are friendly and delivers good customer service.

I’ve gotten takeout from this place a couple of times since they opened. The stinging bites are really good taste in the sauce as well as the plain tenders. However, I don’t intend to order 3 or 4 tenders with one small plastic container of ranch sauce which I love with my tenders. Adding a $1 charge for an additional tiny ranch container which should be no more than 50 cents for that size. To finish three tenders with adequate sauce it requires AT LEAST 3 of those small containers and that’s me being modest. Same goes for the wings I tried are good but come with small containers of each respective flavour you choose. The staff was nice enough to make an exception and toss them in the stinging sauce but these things should be standard options, doesn’t feel good to beg for accommodation. Very important details from one big back to another.

I was looking for a fried chicken fix and decided to try this place. I was looking for real chicken, not KFC. KFC is not chicken. These days you have to go to an independent place to get real chicken, real big chicken. I tried a simple thigh piece. See picture. This was good. I was satisfied. my fried chicken craving was satisfied. Piece was rather large, breading was crunchy although somewhat light but still tasty. The chicken was real. This and London Fried Chicken are probably the realest chicken places in this part of Lakeshore.

We had takeout here and got the Honey stinger and fried chicken sandwich. The fried chicken sandwich could have used a little more sauce but the honey stinger was perfect! Food took a little longer than expected because it looked like they were short staffed but it was worth the wait.

I was the first person to review this establishment, and I am thrilled to say!..the chicken is still outstanding!..haven't ordered out in some time, but I wasn't disappointed at all. Potato and coleslaw were as good as I remembered as well..sizes are smaller, which was a letdown, but seems to be the norm. Seriously, I loved my meal, and it won't take as long to order again!!
