Campechano College

We walked into this cozy restaurant in College St on a Friday night without knowing anything about this place. The building looked very nice and that attracted us. Definitely nice and cozy vibes. We tried the cocktails, and the spicy margarita was great. Keep in mind that there is no wine or juice in the drink menu. The food menu is very limited, mainly tacos, which are not the best. Also, the portions are too small, with each meal being only one Taco. You need to order at least 3 times. We also tried the guacamole and slasa with tortilla, which was the best. There is only one dessert in the menu.

Great tacos. Nice atmosphere and super friendly staff. The bartender Jen is the best! I live nearby and their carnitas taco is often on my mind. It's always delicious, though I would love if they brought back the pickled veg! With or without, I'll keep coming 😅

Love this place!! The Carne Con Queso & Pollo Al Pastor are absolutely amazing! I'm sure the rest are too, but these two are my personal favourites so far. 4 tacos & 2 (non alcoholic) drinks was roughly $60.00 (before tip). Good margaritas, and pleasant service. Thank you!

Excellent fish taco! Fish was crispy and seasoned well. I got a barbacoa taco as well which was good (fish was better though). We had a big group but the servers were very organized with our orders (we each ordered more than one taco). I also appreciated that they brought out one taco per person at a time, so that the other tacos didn't sit around getting soggy. Service is friendly and prices are decent.

Delicious tacos at Campechano, albeit pricier. We had 7 tacos, including the Campechano, fish, pollo al pastor, rajas, chorizo, barbacoa, and the lamb. Highlights were definitely the lamb and fish. The lamb was especially juicy, tender, and very flavourful. Tacos are quite large and very full, so your typical person will be fine with 2-3 each. Spice levels are decent but spice lovers will want more of a kick.

First up, the Chorizo con Papa. Picture this: crispy, golden potatoes having a dance-off with spicy, flavorful chorizo in your mouth. It's a flavor fiesta where everyone's invited! Each bite was like a tiny explosion of joy. Honestly, I think the potatoes and chorizo were having more fun than I was—and I was drinking a spicy margarita! Now, let’s talk about the Pescado. Imagine a fish that’s decided to dress up in the fanciest beer-battered tuxedo for a night out. The fish was so tender and flaky, I almost felt guilty for eating it. Almost. The batter was light, crispy, and had just the right hint of beer, like it had a tiny sip before diving into the fryer. It’s like the fish went to a spa, got a beer bath, and came out ready to party on my plate. In conclusion, if Campechano Taqueria were a person, I'd propose on the spot. This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves tacos, joy, and having a little fiesta in their mouth. Ay, caramba!

Tacos here were great! The fish one was amazing. Would definitely come again. Service was a bit slow but looked like they were short staffed. Overall, highly recommend!

Great restaurant that specializes in tacos. The atmosphere is chic and welcoming. It's easy to make online reservations and the service is excellent and timely. They have lots of cocktails, wine, and virgin drinks. The salsa and guacamole were very good. They have lots of taco options, all with great flavour profiles. What you see on the menu is for one taco but they are very filling. 2-3 per person is more than enough. If driving you may find a hard time finding parking (it's limited and can be expensive). The streetcar is a good option to get here.
