California Sandwiches York Mills

Ordered two large chicken sandwiches with cheese as I normally do , I came home the sandwiches had the bare minimum sauce super dry . Called in to let them know and all they can tell me to ask for extra sauce and they next time they will make it nicer . What kind of customer service is this ? Did not offer to replace my sandwiches or offer anything in the future . The whole experience of California sandwiches is the tomato sauce!!!! Do not go there !

Orfered a sandwich and tried their pasta. Food was piping hot like I love. Sadly the sauce was very bland... not a lot of flavor, especially on the pasta. The serving size of the pasta was very good, just wish it had more flavor. All in all a very good experience. Expensive sandwiches, that's one of my only issues other then the bland pasta. Buy the sandwiches have a lot of meat in them and are a good size. Busy place but once you order not a long wait.

Consistently great sandwich every time I've ordered. I always get the eggplant parmigiana and this location always includes cheese. Unlike the Vaughan location that is more expensive and then will charge you more for cheese. This place is awesome. Comes out fresh and piping hot!

California sandwich has been around since 1967 and does not have an equal or competitive threat. The menus is simple. Veal, Chicken, Meatball and now Steak sandwiches. Different locations offer various assortments or sandwich combos. For example, the Dufferin and Castlefield location has a full hot table offering various pastas, vegetables, and other meal options. The Yorkmills location offers sandwiches and penne pasta. I’ve had everything on the menu and can vouch for quality. It’s a consistently great sandwich across the board. The few times I have been disappointed has been during their slow time. If you’re going to try one of these place go during their peek hours. Lines move very quickly and the sandwiches are always fresh. As a starter, any veal or chicken sandwich can be served mild, medium or hot. Chose wisely. The hot version is hot. Toppings come at a premium, onions, mushrooms and peppers costing about $2.00 / per topping. The basic sandwich doesn’t really need much. It’s great on its own with some Italian saucing rounding out the flavor. As you can see by the picture, one sandwich will feed a big eater or will comfortably serve two. There’s a reason why this is Toron’s best and the number one place for locals to grab and old school Italian sandwich.

I’ve been coming to this location for years whenever I have a craving for a veal sandwich. My go to is the veal with fried breaded eggplant and hot jalapeños. The staff is attentive to your order. Always great service. Definitely recommend if you like veal sandwiches.

Same gigantic size like other locations. Veal is tender but I thought it needed a bit more tomatoe sauce on it. Staff and service here is top notch. Seating is spacious but parking might be hard during meal times.

Amazing location for sandwiches. Sandwiches are big and fries is done the old school way. I did delivery lots of times and take outs. The impressive thing on the delivery is the time and accuracy of the order. Inside is clean and friendly.

Another location that always does it properly. No cutting corners, stacked right and always fresh keeping me a repeat customer until they mess up the equation which I hope never happens👌🏼 March 2023 Update finally has us trying their Chicken Deluxe Sandwich and it just might almost be my new favourite but it has to be eaten right away so the lettuce, tomato and mayo don’t get soggy. If you are eating right away I highly suggest you try it one day as it literally puts every other Fried Chicken Sandwich out there to shame 9.5/10
