The meals were served with details to temperature and taste defining spicing. The jollof rice is heavenly

The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. I can’t say enough good things about the service at this restaurant. The staff is incredibly accommodating for minor changes and goes the extra mile to ensure guests are happy. I highly recommend Calabar Kitchen Canada for their sumptuous Naija meals.

Stopped by here for lunch with my boyfriend. We got the stewed chicken, jollof rice and fried plantain. The food was super fresh made to order and well flavoured. I especially loved the plantain and my boyfriend said if might be the best jollof rice he’d ever had. The lady at the counter is super friendly and looks like she’s also manning the back. Would definitely go back to try other stuff, very impressed!

Soup is rubbish, not afang soup but vegetables in water, no taste and the meat is stale. I threw it away. Paid $31 complete waste of my money. The soup bowl too small for the price

Dear esteemed reader, I must express my utmost disappointment with the so-called "African" restaurant, Calabar Kitchen. I recently had the displeasure of dining at this establishment and I must say, it was a truly underwhelming experience. Upon arrival, I was left standing at the entrance for several minutes without any greeting or acknowledgment from the staff. When I finally managed to place my order, I was appalled at the exorbitant price of 22 dollars for what turned out to be a meager and unsatisfactory portion of food. Frankly, the food was not even worth 2 percent of 100 Canadian dollars, let alone a fifth. This was an insult to my taste buds and my wallet. To make matters worse, the jollof rice that was served to me was the worst I've ever tasted. The texture of the rice was hard and brittle, like old reheated garbage, and the fish was clearly not fresh. The excessive use of peppers only added insult to injury, making the taste unbearable. As an African, I am deeply ashamed to have experienced such a disgraceful representation of our cuisine. In conclusion, I advise anyone with a discerning palate to steer clear of Calabar Kitchen. The food was an utter disappointment and the service was subpar. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere.

I ordered afang soup, pounded yam, rice and stew, and plantain from this restaurant. I had high hopes about the food but was disappointed. The afang soup was more oil than vegetables. The worse is that I found a long strand of hair in the soup that made me stop eating. Instead of pounded yam, I was given semovita and it looked so rough. The rice and stew was tasteless and the plantain was friend in chicken oil. I know this because I found chicken skin with the plantain. You guys can do better.

Yummy! I am not African. Trying this is something new to me. Friendly staff, patiently explained the recommendations for the first-timer me. Not the best price but the soup was loaded with meat chunks on the bottom. Garri was okay, gonna try pounded yam next time.

I paid $19 dollars for rice and 3 pieces of meat. The beef was so hard it was impossible for me to chew. The lady serving was on the phone while I was ordering had her headphones in but asked me to take off my mask so she can hear me better. Food was not tasty and was barely warm and outrageously over priced really disappointed and will not be returning
