I recently visited Baton Rouge and had the steak and fries. Overall, it was a solid experience. The steak was cooked well, tender, and flavorful, though I would have liked a bit more seasoning. The fries were alright making a great side dish. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, adding to the overall enjoyable meal. While it wasn’t the best steak I’ve ever had, it was still a satisfying meal!

Consistently good food and perfectly cooked steak. Leave some space for dessert - recommend their cinnamon bun. Parking can be a little difficult during peak dining hours.

Our experience here was a bit of a strange one, but I'll get to that a bit later. Great atmosphere and our server, Nicole was excellent, so no complaints there. As for the food, I enjoyed their spinach dip, but my NY strip wasn't the med-rare that I asked for. And my wife's top sirloin wasn't the med that she asked for. Our temperatures were swapped. It wasn't a big deal so we didn't mention it. The wine glasses with the "BR Thornhill" on it was a weird design choice. I can understand it on a beer mug, but wine glass? Ok...so on to our strange experience: we were actually here to celebrate a (my) birthday. My wife had ordered me an orange chocolate truffle cake from a nearby bakery (near FMP) and we picked it up right before heading here. The reception lady that greeted us offered to put it in the fridge for us until we were done our dinner. Ok, dinner is done, we asked for our cake and 15 min. go by and our waitress, Nicole couldn't find it. Other staff came by to try and get more information on the cake: who greeted us/took our cake out front, how big was it, what kind of box, etc. Some more time went by and still nothing. Manger comes by to let us know they gave our cake to another table (LOL WUT?). So I said: okay.. well, I want my cake, so just give me theirs (my assumption at that point was that they swapped cakes accidentally). Manager then corrects me. That table didn't bring a cake. But they we given ours even though they hadn't brought a cake...?!?!?!? Apparently, the cake was labeled for the wrong table and that's why it was brought out to that table/family. BR staff were very apologetic and tried to make things right: they offered us free dessert, paid for the cost of the cake and gave us a $50 gift certificate for a future visit. Mistakes happen, and this was probably the result of a comedy of errors. I *am* upset at the family that accepted the cake that was clearly not theirs. They could've prevented this mistake from occurring by simply pointing out that they hadn't brought a cake and it was likely a mistake. But instead they chose to accept and eat it.

Baton Rouge is a great spot for a family dinner, have been here a few times and the food is delightful. Everyone enjoyed their meal from appetizers to mains. Staff is friendly for the most part. Food arrived pretty quick from the time of ordering. Our favourite appetizer was the grilled octopus and main was the halloumi gnocchi. Ambience is pleasant, the dim lighting creates an intimate feel for dining in. Would come here for birthdays and other celebrations as it is a bit pricy.

The Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar is a wholesome establishment. The services were excellent. There is limited vegan options; however, the server and chef worked with me to special make a couple of cuisines that were vegan friendly which was much appreciated and well received. The ingredients appeared fresh, excellent quality, and well presented. There are multiple vegetarian options to choose from. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. This was a good experience, overall.

Used to come here a lot for my celebrations but I was a bit disappointed this time with the food. Service but Jessica was great, she was attentive and hospital. The steak was done well although I was a bit confused with the size of my "seasonal vegetables" as my side when I recieved one piece of Bok Choy, one small piece of broccoli and one slice of carrot. The garden salad was mixed greens with some very little chopped boiled eggs and croutons. The environment was noisier than I wished although it was basically a full house. Overall still a great experience but I was just not super impressed

Good Baton Rouge restaurant, with upscale decor and atmosphere. Prices are on the higher end for the quantity they serve, but I suppose that's expected at a steak restaurant. Food tastes good and was served quickly. Servers are polite and offer fast service as well. I'll probably return if they offer special deals.
