Bronte Fish & Chips

We ordered halibut fish, chips and onion rings - the best fish and chips I’ve tried! Fish is surprisingly flavourful and onion rings freshly made and crispy. Big portion, great service; you can tell it’s a family business and they love what they’re doing. We will be back for sure.

I absolutely love cheesecake, and the one at Bronte Fish & Chips is a true standout. Their cheesecake is incredibly fresh, light, and bursting with flavor. It’s the kind of dessert that keeps you coming back for more. This legendary restaurant in the heart of Oakville, Ontario, not only excels in its savory dishes but also knows how to craft a dessert that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended!

Tried this place out on a whim and was not disappointed at all! The restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside and feels like an old style diner, very spacious and homey. Staff were super friendly and they truly do think of every detail. Service was attentive and excellent. The food was fantastic, flavourful, not too greasy, and good portion sizes. The last time I had a platter this tasty was down in Cape Cod years back. This place brought back memories and sets the bar high for quality fish and chips, and seafood platters!!

A classic fish and chip spot that’s been around for over 50 years in Bronte. It’s family run and the food is delicious! Recommend the cod (Thursday special) and the cole slaw. Dinner for four including drinks was ~ $100. Award winning, charming, and family friendly. We gave been coming here for over 15 years. Always satisfying.

Step 1. Enjoy a nice walk along the Bronte marina. Step 2. Make your way to Bronte Fish n Chips. Lovely down to earth service, good prices and great fish n chips. Their shrimp plate is just amazing too. This is what you call a classic neighbourhood family run place which has been around for decades. 👍🏻

Exactly what a classic fish and chips place should be! Truly delicious, fast, and a generous portion - done right. Great, happy server as well. It’s nostalgic for my dad as he first came here in the 60’s from the UK. Highly recommend the Halibut & Chips!! (I didn’t personally love the deep fried scallops but, to be fair I prefer pan seared if I’m ordering Scallops.) The onion rings looked amazing and again generous portion! Trying those next time!

Decided to try Bronte Fish and Chips a few days ago, got a bunch of stuff for the family. Never been here before but I saw a line up for this place one Friday when I was driving by and it’s been on my to do list. We ordered a bunch of different things: halibut, chips, onion rings, gravy, shrimp. All of it was delicious. The halibut was fresh, flaky, extremely soft - as it’s supposed to be, with a nice portion. Chips were good, not the best I’ve ever had but certainly not the worst. Could be a little bit crispier. Onion rings were unreal though, they were made fresh, extremely good. One of the best I’ve had. The shrimp were great too, can’t go wrong with them and they were de-tailed so you don’t need to worry about it. Will definitely be going back to try more. From what I could see is everything was made to order and it was absolutely delicious. I didn’t see them on ubereats but they do take credit cards etc. Customer service was great, they were very friendly. We stepped out for a few mins to get some grocery and came back just when the food was ready. All in all great experience.

Dined here based off of Google reviews and glad to say it was accurate (think it was a 4+ at the time). The venue felt like it was still all original (like 60s or like a scene in Back to the Future). It seemed clean but dated - almost homey. Reminded me of a pubs in the U.K. I visit. Lot of older white folks in there, kinda reminded me of 'sauga in the 70s - little unnerving if you're not used to it but not a threat. The foods was decent. Wouldn't say it was equal-to or better than the FnC's you get in U.K. but for local it is definitely up there. Gravy was basic but awesome and the awards they've won reflect their dishes. Service was decent. Proud server been there for a while and new his products and seemed genuine and efficient. Cute to see the use the 50s style diner slips for your bill. It does look a bit run down from the outside, depending on your view. Definitely will be visiting again when visiting the area.
