The food here is always amazing. I love the messy barrel mac, better than a big Mac. Their new pulled pork is delicious, tender and not fatty. Spinach dip is a perfect balanve of spinach & cheese. The portions for everything are huge. I always leave more than satisfied especially for the prices.

It was a very mistake coming here for a lunch date. We were super excited to try something new quickly went down hill. First off really upset with the food. There was a cockroach in my food the waitresses didn’t seem to care about anything. Very overpriced for cockroach food. Do not recommend. I hope the health inspector comes soon Adding on Oct/9/24 Well I never took the bug to get inspected to figure out if it was a cockroach it was very similar shape. As someone who has spent money here I don’t appreciate being called fake review. I don’t normally do reviews but I was truly upset and if it was fake I wouldn’t use my name. I’m glad you can pay off the inspector. Thank you. Ps I appreciate that you have taken checks to make sure anything happens again. It could have been a onetime thing. That someone brought it on there clothes and it fell it very possible.

Been once for breakfast. Food was good. Coffee was tasty..but the sugar packets were damp, which was odd. The waitress was lovely! I've tried to come back twice and each time it was closed on a Sunday morning, though hours said it should be open. Definitely makes it hard to support local businesses when this happens. Management: please update hours. Thanks! Edit:Attempted dinner on a Friday at 6 and they were closed but online says open. I give up!

Went tonight for first time with the whole family (they had a kids eat free promotion this week), hidden gem! Pints of draught beer at a great price, food and service was fine. Kids loved that they could eat while watching a baseball game that was on one of the TVs. Not sure why the reviews are so mixed, really had no issues at all and impressed by this affordable, quality restaurant option to the neighbourhood.

Our server was awesome! The atmosphere was laid out nice and was not too busy. Quiet and the tunes cranked out. (Not really). Other than that, I ordered a chicken parm burger/sandwich, and all was good, other than the cheese. It had like a taste that the same smell was like when you open the cap off of a Sharpie marker. Same of the blue cheese. $91 for 3 people. I don't care about the price. It's the quality of the food.

Broken Barrel Bistro hosted us so you can take this with a grain of salt. I went in with very muted expectations because of the google reviews, but I can truly say that their current 4.1 is far too low. Because this was a free meal, I’ll stick to simply talking about the food itself. I LOVED the sides; the “buff” burger sauce paired with the French fries and the dill pickle sauce paired with the onion rings were perfect. Alone, both of these sides are great, but the sauces made them exceptional. My onion ring experience has been pretty limited but these were the best I’ve had. I really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and would have been pleased with the portion for $16. It was very crisp on the outside, yet tender on the inside. I think it could be taken up a notch by being paired with another sauce or with more kick from the Cajun slaw. The Messy Mac burger was their take on a fresh Big Mac. I can see this being a standout for anyone that loves pickles or Big Macs, but as someone that’s not a huge fan, it was too much pickle for me. Outside of that, it was a good smash burger. I think Broken Barrel Bistro has a good thing going with a menu that isn’t overwhelming and a focus on doing those few things well. I hope to see them put more emphasis on their sauces/dips because these components took everything to an elevated level for me!

Just stopped by the Broken Barrel with a friend for lunch. I had the smash burger on a gluten free bun with fries. It was a very good meal. Would definitely order it again. My friend had the Sacramento Spring Salad with Chicken. We were both very impressed with the quantity of chicken. Service was very good, we were checked on several times and though we both had water to drink refills were often. The owner Kristen came by the table to check as well. If your along Concession St., need a break from either The Juravinski Hosptial or the cancer clinic this is a nice 1 block walk. Good luck Kristen in this new venture.

Hark! On this morn, mine sister and I did venture forth to the newly opened Broken Barrel Bistro, situated upon Concession Street in fair Hamilton. The serving wench named Taylor was most delightful, attending to our needs with great care and alacrity. Alas, our repast left much to be desired. The scrambled eggs, bacon, and home fries were seasoned with such an abundance of salt that 'twas as if we supped upon the very shores of the briny sea. Yet, we must grant clemency, for this establishment hath only recently thrown wide its doors, and we hold faith that their culinary skills shall improve with the passage of time. The coffee, I must declare, was a nectar fit for the gods themselves, warming our spirits and invigorating our senses. However, the arrangement of tables within the dining hall left something to be desired, lacking the charm and comfort one might expect. The large window table placement would allow viewing of passers by. One aspect most praiseworthy was the ease with which those bound to wheeled chairs might enter the premises. The entryway and water closet were most accommodating, allowing all to partake in the pleasures of dining with dignity. In conclusion, while our morning meal was not without its faults, we remain hopeful that the Broken Barrel Bistro shall soon find its footing and offer fare worthy of its patrons' patronage. We will return.
