Was there for the soft launch. If this is authentic Korean "rice porridge" then it's not for me. Would not recommend due to the value proposition (and the 2 star rating.) Flavours were bland, There was not much meat in the porridge. The staff were attentive and friendly, but it took over 45 minutes just for a walk-in takeout. Bulgogi side was a total rip-off. Atmosphere: bright, upscale, trendy. There are three tables for 2 and 4 window bar style seats. Food quality: Caveat - I am Chinese and am very familiar with Canto style congee. This was my very first taste of Korean "homestyle rice porridge.". That being said, I felt the rice was a little undercooked, somewhere in-between Chiujao style and Canto, and not very smooth. The base flavour was extremely bland, and there was very little abolone in a $20 personal size porridge. I also ordered the bulgogi side dish... For $20 you would expect a decent size, but it was only enough to cover the bottom of the takeout container. It was so little that the price should be embarressing. Three times the amount would have made the value proposition for the bulgogi side almost worth the money. The staff were very friendly and apologetic about the cooking and fulfillment time, and gave guests realistic wait time estimates. At the time there was a promotion where they gave a small sweet pumpkin porridge for all takeout orders. It was very thick and tasty.

The mushroom oyster porridge at Bonjuk was absolutely delicious—rich, flavourful, and just like the authentic taste of Korea. It brought back comforting memories of home. The complimentary dessert was a delightful surprise and paired perfectly with the meal. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Korean flavors!

The taste of original Korea Bonjuk that I've known. Good. Big portion. Made fresh. Kind service

On the occasion of Winter solstice I’ve ordered the red bean and rice porridge, and it was definitely wholesome. Made fresh right in front of you in an open kitchen, you can see their clean and neat preparation. I’m definitely coming back to try out more of their dishes. Also, I was offered some hot tea while I waited for my order! Good experience 👍🏼

Tasty and served at a temperature that keeps it warm for the whole meal. Lovely service but beware a very small seating area if you want to dine in, around 4 tables of 2 seats. I'll come again for takeout next time.

Very good place. I was surprised to hear that Bonjuk is open here Canada and I am expecting to eat soon. It was nice experience to stay and eat. It brought to me that finally I can eat hometown’s best meal right away. Thank you for your service and meal “Bonjuk”.

I visited Bonjuk, and although the prices are a bit high, you can really taste the quality of the authentic Korean ingredients. The taste was exactly like the Bonjuk back in Korea—it really surprised me! The red crab juk was so delicious, and I thought it would be perfect to buy for my boyfriend when he’s feeling under the weather. The staff were super friendly, but they looked so busy that I actually felt bad for them. If you want a more relaxed experience, I’d recommend going in the morning!

They always look so busy whenever I visit, and I can’t help but worry! The food is absolutely amazing, and this is already my third time here. Just as I picked up my takeout, they ran out of ingredients. I highly recommend coming early in the morning!
