3 hours and 15 minutes! We got there at 7:30 and had reservations. We were seated right away. We left at 10:45. It took over an hour just to get our bill. Did not get menus until 8:30. I will say the food was tasty but the service is lacking. I would not recommend.

End of an Era at The Blackhorn It’s truly the end of an era at The Blackhorn. For those who may not know, George and Vera—the heart and soul of this beloved establishment—have sold the restaurant and moved on. Their departure marks a significant change, and sadly, not for the better. The new owner seems to prefer keeping things under the radar, but anyone who visits can immediately notice the difference. The warm, welcoming atmosphere created by George and Vera has faded, replaced by very little, if any, interaction from the new management. Long-time patrons like myself can feel the shift, and it’s disheartening. Prices have skyrocketed. A simple fountain drink now costs an outrageous $4.95, with no refills—a far cry from the value we’ve come to expect. The changes suggest a lack of understanding about what made this place special: great food, fair prices, and a personal touch that kept us coming back. It’s tough to see something once cherished begin to decline so quickly. Reviews from long-time customers are rolling in, and they echo the same concerns. I can’t help but think George wouldn’t be happy to see what’s become of the restaurant he poured so much of himself into. This feels like another case of a business being taken over by someone who can afford it but doesn’t understand the care and effort required to truly run it well. Unfortunately, if things don’t change, The Blackhorn will continue to lose the loyal customer base that George and Vera worked so hard to build. Sad...

We have been driving past this restaurant for over 20 years and tonight was the first time we looked them up. The food is DELICIOUS! The service was excellent and friendly. We went on a Sunday evening and it was pretty chill. It would even be a great place to go for some drinks and apps if you want somewhere more on the quiet side for chats. Don’t let the strip plaza steer you wrong, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. My new favourite place.

High quality cuisine at reasonable prices. Server Maria is the most professional I never met person like her before. I feel like getting invited to a Canadian family home and treated well. This is a must visit place.

A 40-Year Customer, Deeply Disheartened My wife and I have been dining at Blackhorn Steakhouse for over 40 years, back when it was truly the preeminent steakhouse in Scarborough. It was a place we could count on for fantastic food, warm service, and an inviting atmosphere. Sadly, since the recent change in ownership, the experience has taken a drastic and disappointing turn. During our last visit, we were shocked by how much the prices have increased. We don’t mind paying a little extra for a quality meal, but what we got was far from the standards this restaurant once had. The final straw, though, was when a cockroach ran across our table during dinner. I couldn’t believe my eyes—this was a place we had once trusted for clean, top-notch dining. To make matters worse, the new owner seems aloof and uninterested in the customers who have supported this establishment for decades. It’s incredibly sad to see a place with such a rich history fall so far from grace. This is not the Blackhorn we knew and loved. I never thought I’d say this, but I can no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone. The name may be the same, but under new ownership, it’s clear they’ve desecrated what once made it special.

I absolutely love this restaurant! It’s a little diamond in the rough. Traditional steakhouse, affordable pricing, and a nice vast menu sprinkled in with some Greek cuisine courtesy of the owners. my peppercorn steak with blue cheese sauce was absolutely incredible! With your meal, you get a salad and a choice of potatoes with roasted vegetables. we have been looking for a place that has both seafood options for my mother, vegetarian options and a really good steak for the carnivore in our family. We have now found our place! Great service, quiet and relaxed atmosphere and no pretension. Thank you, Blackhorn! Well done!

This place is a hidden gem. The server is friendly and accommodating. She gave suggestions as well as it is my first time going to this place. The steak was cooked perfectly. I ordered Neptune steak and a clam chowder on the side. The food was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Thank you Blackhorn Steakhouse for welcoming us and giving such good service.
