Extremely kind and accommodating staff. Great music (loved hearing Post Punk legends like Wire, Gang of Four, and Joy Division), except for the fact they started Can I Kick It? and abruptly cut it off 🙃 Specifically Meg (with the long brown hair). Thank you for putting the Raptors game on during Hockey night!

Cute little place. Food was average. Service was amazing. Our wait staff was attentive, friendly and personable. I had the fish n chips which were ok. The fish was made exactly as requested (lightly battered) but I didn't think much of the fresh cut fries. They just didn't taste fresh cut. I didn't say much about the meal but the coleslaw was a little on the warmer side and tasted like it had been sitting. I went to meet up with friends I hadn't seen on a while so my purpose for the visit wasn't all about the food. The server again was great and she knew when to check in on our table and when to let us converse. I just didn't think the food was anything special to come back for. I would however return just because it's a place my friend frequent and the service was great

I absolutely adore Bernie's Tavern! As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed to a spacious, comfortable, and clean dining room by their incredible servers. All of their food is delicious and prepared with great attention to detail by their kitchen staff. My personal favouritesare the Burger (highly suggest getting the waffle fries) and the spaghetti fingers (an absolute must try in my opinion), and save room for the sticky toffee pudding for dessert! The seating is spacious and comfortable, and their washrooms are kept in an immaculate level of cleanliness. I stop by Bernie's every time I am in Hamilton, and you should too. You won't regret it

Very disappointed by the food I was served today. The egg on my sandwich was not just over cooked but black and covered in the char/oil residue you get from cleaning a flattop. I would have just assumed it was burnt but the taste is unmistakable and just gross. Love this place and frequently go with friends but I’m shocked this ever left the kitchen on a slow afternoon service. Mentioned it to server but they seemed disinterested. Was charged for the full meal, only tipped for my drink, probably won’t be back for brunch.

Unassuming storefront belies warm interior. Well prepared dishes with a great drink menu. We arrived only in time for the brunch but the rest of the menu looked really great. Definitely recommend the huevos rancheros. Really enjoy the flavour combinations. The home fries were amazing. Friendly service and the back opens up to the patio /outdoor space. Will come back for sure. Been to the sandwich shop next door and loved it but we are glad we were tempted by the atmosphere to try.

Went for a hang back in April with a few buddies. We didn't make a reservation, but we were accommodated without any wait time. Our lovely waitress was very patient as we were a chaotic group. She took her time to explain the menu and made some excellent suggestions, especially their IPA options. The vibes were chill, good music, and atmosphere, but their service was a little slow, probably because it got busy?. Nevertheless, we all got our orders; I got the club sandwich without the bacon, it came with fries, and even though the fries were not appealing to sight, the taste was on point, likewise my sandwich.

Another great local find, starting off our weekend at Bernie's. 5 off us on this adventure this evening. Had the burger, shrimp tacos and the club and a side of waffle fries and aioli dip and it was a great 2 hours spent here The atmosphere is so laid back everyone doing there own thang at each picnic table. Quite a large patio as shared with Shorty's pizza. It does not have AC so pretty warm inside with the kitchen pumping out the grub but there was a nice breeze coming through it kinda reminded me of a Greek tavern really. Spacious with plants and pottery vases. Now the food, well my club which is chicken with aioli sauce was just Delicious never had anything like it before so a hit for me, hubby and daughter had the shrimp tacos which were also a hit with them. Son and son in law loved their burgers, very yummy. Now the only downfall was the warm beers, so sad on a hot day to sit and have a semi cool beer. Even tried the sol bucket which was better but as the beers weren't in long enough still cool not cold. Waitress did offer to fish around for some colder ones for us but none the less at over $9 a beer was the disappointment. Bill was $241 for 5 for 2 hours of a nice patio experience. Glad to support local and very happy to check off our local excursion list for my hubby's bday dinner but plz having cold beers are simply the best!

Had a great dinner with the family here. Brought my dog as well as they have a dog friendly patio and even brought her a bowl of water. Everyone had a good dinner. For appetizer we had wings and dip trio. The wings were crispy and hot. The dip was enough as a meal for two people. I had the club sandwich which was the best I've had in Hamilton. Fries are thick and properly crispy. I just needed some garlic mayo and it would have been even better.
