absolutely amazing food, service, and ambience. the veggies were so flavourful and the chocolate cake was so rich. shout out to my server for making my birthday great. he even helped me take two pictures on film and brought out a sparkler on the cake slice. he also brought some ice cream even when i didn’t order it. i was able to order half portions of some dishes to try more than one thing. everyone was so nice and attentive. make sure to book in advance.

Such a gem of an establishment. Great food, friendly staff, and not so steep prices. Came here a few months ago with two friends and we split a whole chicken. After my first bite, I was thinking: “Have I been pranked my whole life? This is chicken?”. Not exaggerating, they take such a humble ingredient and execute it flawlessly, doing the bird a real justice. Juicy, tender, delicious, and it comes with great accompaniments like the bread, gravy, pickles and potatoes/fries. Us, three grown men, were stuffed! Can’t wait to be back. Don’t hesitate, these guys have the game on lock, kudos to the team.

The chicken is good but the real highlights are the seasonal veggies and soft serve! Love coming back in different seasons to try something new.

When one think of rotisserie chicken, supermarket hot food comes to mind but don’t be mistaken because Bernhardt’s is completely different. The meat is flavourful and juicy without the need for gravy (though they do provide) and comes in big portions that can easily feed 2, the side of potatoes is superb. The green salad is super fresh and complements the chicken well as does the kohlrabi and shrimp dish with its unique mix. The soft serve ice cream and a cocktail was the perfect way to cap off an excellent dinner. The restaurant is top ranked in Canada and can get super crowded even on a random Monday so reservation is highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent service, friendly and knowledgeable. The food is approachable, seasonal and vegetable oriented with a touch of gourmandise. The chicken is juicy and the cod dish was delicious. 1 of each for dessert. I had a beautiful family dinner. Thank you.

Everything we Tried at Bernhardts A rustic, laid-back bistro that beautifully prepares unfussy food, highlighting the best local vegetables, rotisserie chicken, and delicious wines. With an appetizer menu that changes with the seasons, you're always in for a treat, but the star of the menu is the rotisserie chicken. Their plump, juicy birds are from White Rock Farms in Harriston, roasted golden-brown and served with fries, coleslaw, buns and in house-made gravy, like Chalet sauce, but so much better! Love that they’re on Resy so you can sign up to be notified of last minute resos. Great upscale chicken and interesting apps. Especially good value for money if you just go and split the chicken with another person. Wish they gave more gravy and the coleslaw portions weren’t so tiny.

The food here was delicious! The appetizers are super refreshing and super flavourful. I was told they were known for their roasted chicken and it did not disappoint! The chicken was cooked perfectly and was super tender and well seasoned. The portions are big enough to share. I highly recommend coming by this place.
