Bento 886

Yummy authentic Taiwanese Bento! We tried a bit of everything and they were all delicious! Great value for only $12.99 for a bento! Popcorn chicken is of course a must get staple, everything was super hot and fresh, Bento portion is big and filling with yummy sides added. I'm already craving for it again after just one week, we'll definitely be a regular!

Definitely recommended for a quick lunch or early dinner. The portion is good enough to fill your stomach for long. Price is reasonable given the portion and quality offered. My suggestion is to have bento combos which drinks and side dish are included, say for $16.50

Decide to stop by for a quick snack after learning about this newly opened Bento 886 on social media. The shop seems to be a takeout spot with food items readily available. We ordered a few snacks to share, and it all came in a paper bag with some skewer sticks for utensils. The service was very good; the lady serving us could speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese. All the items had the same Taiwanese signature flavouring; it was on the saltier side. The wintermelon tea drink, on the other hand, was sweet, so it balanced the saltiness out. I would recommend the Thousand-Layer Tofu and the Turnip Cake. The Popcorn Chicken looked pretty good, but it was a bigger portion, and we didn't want to get stuffed before dinner. The staff accidently dropped off the popcorn chicken to us (and I took a picture of it anyway lol) The only item that really threw me off was the cuttlefish balls. The menu image shows 5 whole cuttlefish balls for 4.99, which sounds decent, but what we got seems to be 1-2 cuttlefish balls cut onto 3s for 4.99, which I didn't think was worth it. I would want to come back again to try the bento meals and the popcorn chicken for next time!

Certainly! Here’s the updated review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food quality is outstanding. Every dish is bursting with authentic flavors and prepared with the utmost care. I particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper chicken (盐酥鸡), which was cooked to perfection and reminded me of traditional meals I’ve had in Taiwan. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was impeccable. Aside from the delicious food, the value for money is excellent. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, making it a perfect spot for daily meals.

2.5 stars, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and round it up to 3 stars. Order the Pork Belly Rice. The pork belly was good, tender enough, but could definitely be more tender. Disappointed with the rice. The rice was mushy and soggy as you can see in the pic. Portion wise, it’s pretty fair for nowadays. $15.00 for a small/medium lunch without a drink. Got a Minced Pork Belly Bento today, the rice was definitely better than last time. The marinated minced pork was yummy, made from real pork cut (as opposed to just ground pork). The veggies and were good. Pretty satisfied with the food this time. $13+tax for a bowl of take-out rice without a drink. Maintain 3 star rating.

好吃 - 真的是台灣味 😊 Truly an authentic Taiwanese bento experience - owners and operators have fantastic service and everything is extremely hygienic & clean. Food is amazing as well with traditional spices that you would usually only taste in Taiwan. Highly recommend 💯

Cozy restaurant with a variety of different delicious Taiwanese food options! Very friendly vibe upon entering. Bento boxes are a great size and ingredients are fresh. Will definitely be coming back, highly recommend.

This is easily the best Taiwanese food in Markham. Ordered the pork belly and minced pork rice along with pork blood and popcorn chicken for my wife and I. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Really glad they opened up in Markham on highway 7 as it is easy to get to. Looking forward to coming back to try other dishes!
