What a treat! Had such a lovely time at Belle Isle. Twas just for snacks and drinks but everything was stellar- that Florida Man salad will visit me in my dreams for sure. Thank you to James as well who was incredibly kind, patient and a hoot. Can’t wait to go back!!!

I really wanted to like this place more because I loved Lake Inez. The vibes were amazing, solid music, lots of people. Food and drinks were all fairly underwhelming which was very disappointing. My favourite meal was the beef jerky, it was unique and the most flavourful. Everything else was lacking and missed the mark unfortunately.

An absolute splendid evening catching up with some girlfriends. Restaurant is right on the southwest corner of Craven and Gerrard (West of Coxwell). It's a blank storefront with "Restaurant" being the only words on the sign. Don't miss it! Reservations were easy to make online, and absolutely recommended. They are new and hot in the neighbourhood, unsurprisingly so! The menu is definitely small plates/snacks. All very sharable. If looking for a full meal, I'd suggest 2-3 plates per person. All of the menu items feel like I'm eating out of someone's diary. There's a sense of nostalgia. They're kind of wonderfully random. There are memories and I'm just dying to hear the stories. -Patatas Bravas were the top winner for me tonight! You can get it with the pork on the side if you are sharing with non-meat eating friends like I did. -Fried mushrooms au poivre were super tasty! The pepper gravy boat had a great peppery kick to it. -Muffaletta hoagie tartare was very cute! Great "non traditional" way to have beef tartare. -I left my heart at cafe yemen, March 2020 was so unique! Great hot dip for sharing -The Coney Island dog was pretty loaded - it was a utensil affair and very filling. A little harder to share but cuts easily with fork/spoon. -Ali's grandma patsy's rest in pecan pie was loaded with pecans! So delicious. The wait and kitchen staff were super great to us. The kitchen double-checked on us about having pork on the side for the patatas bravas. And when it came to the bills, the server already knew how to split it without us asking. I wouldn't have been fussed if it was split evenly 3-ways like so many other places, but I was impressed at how well our server paid attention to what and how we ordered, splitting it appropriately; meat eaters vs non meat eaters, and drinks were organized. Atmosphere was incredibly comfortable. There was such a mix of outfits (formal to casual) and everyone just seemed to fit in. Loved it! Thank you and looking forward to returning!

Very delicious and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and excellent service. The appetizer with the taco shell was particularly tasty.

Add another reason that the east end is the best end. Such a gem of a spot. Food, drinks, ambiance and service all top knotch. This is the perfect date night spot in Toronto. Or even better place to grab a cocktail and snack while waiting for a table at Lake Inez. I could go on and on. I think my favourite thing I love about eating here is the dishes make you think. They bring up random nostalgic memories of your favourite bites of food or random dishes you ate at a food court in Toronto but if it became a super elevated dish while drinking a martini at the same time. Okay I’m rambling now. Just go eat here. Included my crappy food pics so you can drool and dream until you experience it yourself.

My favourite restaurant (Lake Inez) has opened the most amazing bar! LOVE the space. Amazing cocktails, chill vibe, as-can-be-expected fantastic food. HIGHLY recommend. No resos.

Belle Isle is the Belle of the East. It has the charm of the Greek Islands, with the soul of the Mid-West. Cocktails are inventive yet nostalgic. The food is exactly what you need after a long day - comforting and fun. The people behind it are what give it it's heart. From the folks at Lake Inez, Belle Isle will be one of the city's gems for a long time to come.
