BEAR Steak Sandwiches

Believe all the hype their steak sandwich is 10/10. Everything about the steak sandwich is perfection from the medium cook, to the Chimichurri and sealed within Portuguese roll. Simple but done just right. Definitely heading back to try their other menu options. I've heard sometimes a long wait may occur not my experience.

Wow… the steak was perfectly cooked. The bread was wildly fresh and fluffy. The sauce has many many layers of flavor that keep on giving. I’d heard of this place for many months before coming and it definitely lived up to the hype. I will absolutely be back!!

TLDR: I mean, their name has STEAK in them so their steak sandwich is the star of this place, and I have to agree with them on that front. -[ORIGINAL STEAK SANDWICH] $18.00 🥩 This sandwich is made up of medium rare steak, chimichurri, all served on a Portuguese roll 🥪 Their steak is quite tender, and the chimichurri pairs very well with the steak 🥩 10/10 sandwich even if you don't eat it fresh/served hot 📝 You can place an order on their website which is extremely easy, and makes it very tempting to order. I may have ordered a sandwich after having had dinner & dessert elsewhere 🤣 THAT is how good the sandwich is here

A five stars as the star of the show - the steak - is phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. $18 is incredibly fair for the portion given, especially if you compare how much a similarly sized steak dinner would cost at a restaurant. Where I think there is room to improve is toning down the chimichurri & oil. The steak is phenomenal and speaks for itself, so I found the chimichurri to be slightly too salty. Likewise the chili is slightly too overpowering. Overall a phenomenal sandwich but with a couple tweaks I think this could be the best sandwich in the city.

The Bear steak sandwich is truly a standout—perfectly toasted with succulent, high-quality steak cuts, elevated by a well-balanced chimichurri that brings everything together. However, it’s the cheeseburger that caught us off guard. Who would've thought a humble spot could serve up possibly the best burgers in Toronto? The chuck patty, cooked precisely to medium-rare, bursts with flavor and proves the hype is well-deserved. Limited seating (only outdoor benches) means you’ll need to plan ahead, but for food like this, it’s a minor inconvenience. A must-try for any serious food lover.

Hands down the BEST steak sandwich in Toronto. This place lives up to the hype. The menu is simple. We got the original steak sandwich and it was delicious. Steak is cooked perfectly and pairs well with their house made chimichurri sauce. Sandwich was packed with flavour. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We got take out. The store is small so there isn’t a place to dine in, but there is a small bench outside. This place is highly recommended and we cannot wait to come back!

This local restaurant has a simple, minimal menu with just three options. We decided to try the steak and pork sandwiches. To be honest, the pork sandwich was a bit underwhelming and lacked flavor. However, the steak sandwich was a standout—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by a delicious chimichurri sauce. If you're going to visit, I highly recommend the steak sandwich for a satisfying bite

Definitely one of the best steak sandwiches in the city and worth the hype. All of their sandwiches are freshly made and despite the lineup/wait, is definitely worth it. Their menu is fairly simple, with three main sandwich options and sides to accompany, which makes ordering simple without having to decide between many options. The steak sandwich comes with thick pieces of tender flank steak that pairs perfectly with the chimichurri sauce which adds a bit of heat but a lot of flavour. The roast pork sandwich is another good option with tender pieces of pork shoulder and includes a sauce to dip into. They also have special sandwiches which aren’t posted on their menu but are also exclusive on certain days (ask staff or check their social media). They also recently added a cheeseburger option as well. Fries are also a recommended add on to the meal. They also added Craig’s Cookies as a dessert/snack option as well. Recommended place in Little Italy for their sandwiches alone. The spot is mainly takeout only as well but they have a few benches outside to eat on.
