Bacan opened with the purpose of bringing authentic Argentine and Venezuelan cuisine to Toronto. As a family run restaurant— we want each and every guest to feel welcome in our “home”. For this reason, we provide exemplary service and ensure each item on our menu reflects our commitment to culinary excellence. Between the succulent and flavourful cuts of Argentine Beef in our empanadas and our irresistible gluten-free arepas, our multifaceted menu is a genuine celebration of the versatility in latin cuisine. Our restaurant is a quiet place to connect and create ever-lasting memories while savouring the depth of flavours in our carefully curated menu.

I love South American food, and Bar Bacan is particularly good, delicious and excellent value. I'm currently eating an in-house made Alfajor and it's one of the best I've tried!

Absolutely amazing spot to try authentic Venezuelan and Argentinian Cuisine in Toronto.❤️ They have a cozy and cultural interiors with wide menu to choose from. The servers are professional and hospitality is sweet here. They even have veg, non-veg and vegan options, which is truly amazing. I tried~ 1. Empanadas- Veg 2. Empanadas- Chicken 3. Yuca Fries & Chipotle Mayo 4. Veg Arepas 5. Alfajor Dessert 6. Gin & Tonic 7. Rumba Papelon Definitely coming back here with my besties!🌸❤️

We started with the Tequeños, very tasty dip and soo cheesy 🧀. Then we ordered the Parillada for two and the meat was amazing, medium rare with juicy fat just how we like it. Yuca fries were alright. Attention was really good. Luis and Mari did a great job. The ambience is nice. They even have some beautiful photographs on display. Definitively coming back to try some more.

We come to this surrounding area and picked a restaurant with a cuisine that we have not tried before Argentina and Venezuela food. Patrolled is a meat platter for two persons. It has the Sirloin steak, beef ribs and a meat platter. The beef rib is very tender! Yuca fries are so crispy! The Cachapa has meaty cheese with beef and is also very tasty. The dessert, Allajor, has the filling of Dulce de Leche is not too sweet with tender cookies sandwiched. Excellent service and food!

Cross Contamination: Unsure Halal/ Kosher Options: No Vegan Option: Yes Vegetarian Options: Yes Nut Free Options: Yes Dairy Free: Yes First Impression: A casual restaurant with kind servers. They added some interesting art to spice up the place which is nice. Favourite: The arepa with meat, beans and plantains was great! Critiques: I ordered a cafe con leche. The taste of the coffee did not stand out which left me disappointed. Bonus: They have great platters that give you the option to try a little bit of everything. If you’re looking for authentic Latin cuisine focused on Argentinian and Venezuelan dishes, I highly recommend Bacan Bar located in Roncesvalles. The bar is casual, friendly, and a great spot whether you’re planning to hang out with friends or family. The staff is super welcoming and will always make you feel comfortable and well taken care of (a big thank you to Luis, who went above and beyond during our time there!). To start, I have to say the drinks are rich and tasty. The Moscow Mule is the perfect balance of lemony and sweet, a great choice for the summer. The beers are always cold and fresh, and don’t hesitate to ask for good drink pairings to go with your food! Now, let me tell you how amazing the dishes are. From the Arepas to the Costillitas, Yuca Frita, and Tequeños, anything you order will make you feel good and completely satisfied. For veggie lovers, I personally recommend the spinach and cheese empanada, which is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I don’t have words to describe how it melts in your mouth. In sum, Bacan Bar is a must if you’re around the area! Congratulations to the whole team for making this one of my favourite spots in Toronto!

Bar Bacan has some of the best empanadas and Arepas you can find. I was pleasantly surprised by how much flavour was packed in everything that we ate. You will always find me back here if I'm in the neighbourhood for those Arepas. If you are too, I would highly recommend making your way into Bar Bacan

I used to love coming here and having the steak dishes, picanha and parrilada but recently I had two very disappointing experiences where I ordered my steak medium rare, but it arrived super well done. I brought it to the waitress attention, and she responded with a simple apology, saying she would inform the kitchen. She mentioned that she had instructed them to make it medium rare, but nothing more was done to rectify the situation. :( Unfortunately, this really impacted the overall experience for me as the food and service were a big miss.
