Take out only. Long line up but totally worth it. Price is reasonable and it tastes really good. A lot of interesting flavours each week and never gets bored. Too bad it closed fall and winter.

One of the best places I’ve been to for gelato in Toronto. They are only open during the summer season. Depending on supplies they stay open into early October. There is usually a line, which moves very quick. Every week they have new flavours and I highly recommend visiting more than once so you can try new flavours. CASH ONLY

One of the best places in the city for soft serve. The texture truly couldn’t be better, and the changing flavours always have you going back! The line might seem long at first, but it moves fast and the atmosphere is great. Will definitely continue to return!

When we were visiting Toronto, the weekly features were Toronto yellow plum twist, toasted almond and smoke salt bar and bloody orange chocolate bar. The roasted almond and smoke salt bar was sweet and salty The orange creamsicle was good. We enjoyed the flavors we never had in Calgary!! From Calgary Alberta.

We’ve lived in the area for about two years before we tried out Bar Ape’s soft serve and gelato bars. To be brief: we are converts. I love that the flavors change every week and it’s a mix of classics and ultra seasonal/local. We’ve come here so far six times this summer and never had a bad time. Ontario sour cherry and brown butter is my favorite twist, but everything I’ve tried has been nothing but excellent. You can see the rigor and the love in everything - from the beautiful photos on their instagram to how fast and consistently good the service is. I understand the line may be challenging for certain groups, but here’s a pro tip: Friday 5pm is the best time to come. I’m happy I finally tried out this spot and I’ll be coming back many, many times!

Smashing IT! This little tiny gem of an ice-cream joint has been in the neighborhood for some time now. Only open during the summer months. There is a reason why the line-ups stretch around the corner because the ICE - CREAM IS AMAZING! Simple and quality ingredients. I ordered the Coconut and Pineapple Gelato, and it was amazing! Great place and great customer service!

Cross Contamination: Yes, can be a risk Halal/ Kosher Options: No Vegan Option: Unsure Vegetarian Options: Yes Nut Free Options: Yea Dairy Free: Unsure First Impression: A pick up and go window. The window is decorated nicely and gives a hip vibe. Favourite: The banana soft serve and spicy mango soft serve. They were unique and not overly sweet! Critiques:The place only accepts cash! There is a convenient store near by that has an ATM. Also, there’s always a long line up so expect to wait! We were not fans of the strawberry or guava flavours. They did not give the same satisfaction as the others we enjoyed. Bonus: The neighborhood around the area is beautiful and it’s a nice to take a walk around and eat your treats. Long line, quick service. Love the weekly flavour rotation. Bar Ape offers adventurous and unique flavours (passion fruit + guava twist and strawberry black pepper as examples) at a reasonable price given the exceptional quality. Tried the rhubarb sour cherry sundae on my first visit and can’t wait to explore the rest of the menu.
