Banh Mi Metro

My favourite sandwich in the city!!! I adore the tofu banh mi!! It’s affordable ($6.50), good portion, and made fresh right in front of you. It takes about 10 min to receive because the tofu is fried to order. The waiting area is the entrance and there are a couple of chairs. Restaurant is simple but always busy. The bread is the perfect amount of fresh and crusty without cutting open the roof of your mouth. Toppings are simple but fresh. I always eat it in the car because I love enjoying it hot. The lady who makes it puts a lot of care to stuff the ingredients in and is always friendly. When I order, she asks me “1 or 2?” My only regret is I say 1 because although I’m full, I want the great taste to continue!

Great place for Pho! Soup was really good - enough noodle to meat ratio. Also tried the beef bbq and rice and spring rolls - both were amazing. I believe it can busy on weekends, be ready to line up on peak times. Service was ok - nothing great to expect about it, as they are busy, but they were friendly. Price is okay compared to other restaurants serving same food - quality here is really good! try it out!

We have been getting take out here for a few years. Great place for Vietnamese food, sandwiches, Bao and dessert. Got take out today and while food is great, with quick service, interior of restaurant can use some cleaning.

Second time coming here and this place serves up solid banh mis in Scarborough. This place is often packed and I came after lunch at 2:30pm on a Saturday and thankfully it wasn't too busy. I ordered the cold cut and kimchi fries and both were made to order. There's something about the mayo / sauce in the kimchi fries that made the dish. Banh mi was nicely packed inside a toasted baguette. Highly recommend and would come back to get my banh mi fix. Their pho is also a must have if you're feeling a soup.

We ordered takeout today, and we really enjoyed our meal. The prices are a little more expensive than Nguyen Huong, which is our usual go-to for banh mi, but the portions at Banh Mi Metro seem bigger, and the filling/toppings are more generous. We tried the original cold cut and lemongrass chicken banh mi, and both were delicious and fresh. The bread was crunchy but not too dry or hard. It was also clear that they were well made (not sloppily done or rushed). It was fairly busy inside, but we ordered online beforehand, so our order was ready to go when we got there. We'd definitely go back, and it will be added to our rotation of go-to places for banh mi nearby.

Really good food overall and sandwiches as well. I’m no expert in this type of cuisine but damn they make a good product here. Sandwich bread is super fresh, crusty yet soft and their meats are done really well too. Some loaded type fries were pretty awesome as well. I definitely recommend this place as I’m sure I’ll be back again one day.

My favorite banh mi place of all time. Very authentic northern flavor. I always order the cold cut one as I don't like other types that much. However I have to take away 1 star as it's getting more pricey and quality is going down. Much less filling was put in the banh mi. Last time I also ordered the braised pork bao to try. I feel like it's way overpriced and not that special as the meat is too fat.
