Our first time going. It was a very windy snowstorm eve.. the restaurant did not have many customers, but we were not alone on this stormy night. The place filled up at 7pm when the Thurs Eve music began as did half price appies! The menu has a lot of handhelds and some other options. 3 of our group got the fish and chips, more for lack of other options, not wanting a handheld.. were hoping for a brisket meal or smoked something... The fish pieces were bit on the small side, hubby was happy he chose the 2 PCE. Gravy was terribly overpriced, $2 for a very small container, some size as tarter sauce and coleslaw. I had the brisket, peppers onions and cheese on a bun with fires and it was very good, a bit messy, but good. We were surprised that they did not have any hot drinks, coffee and tea, but the waitress said we could run downstairs to Binghams and bring it up! Again, it was very windy out and cold... But we had to keep our jackets on, it was so cold inside..the glass windows and doors which would be wonderful, as would the patio were not made for the cold storm coming off the bay. We may go back again, because it is close by.

A classic place to have a drink and a bite to eat. Nachos, wings, fries, poutine all your typical comfort bar foods and a full drink selection. The food is pretty good. The decor and the patio deck are fantastic. Great people watching spot and a nice place to watch the sun set. The location is everything. The people are important too. Service at the Balm Beach Bar is typically excellent and most recently, Emma was very nice and looked after our table. Cool bar and a wonderful local option. Amazing location and a fun Spot.

Disappointing experience overall. The service was incredibly slow, and the servers seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. The food, while edible, was quite average and didn't live up to expectations.

Went here last week, would highly recommend going. The staff are polite, the food is tasty and they do have a variety of options. Great for the area and i would go back. The service is a tad on the slower side but i don't blame the waitress, its a busy place. Seems like a lovely place to sit and enjoy a beautiful view.

The sauce and sweet potato fries are delicious! Very clean, and excellent service. I wish I remember the server's name because she's the main reason for the 5 stars. The receipt reads Friday, August 26th 2024 before 1:30.: I was greeted by a server who had straight short black hair, petit figure, around 5f6in.

Arrived after a long drive on a Sunday and were quickly greeted and seated. We immediately had menus and within 2 minutes, our server had our drink orders. The food (1 order of wings and fries, 1 philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries, 1 Creole shrimp penne) came in good time. The view over the beach is lovely, and I imagine watching it over a sunset at dinner would be amazing! (Will just have to go back again). Wings you can get dry/dusted or wet, (we ordered more- so good!). The portions were of a fair size and filling. I found the prices on the mid-high end of competitive, but this restaurant is supporting local! So a little extra for the benefit of neighbours and community is always a good thing! We had leftover fries and penne to bring home. The penne sauce was well made, not too acidic, and not overladen with cream. A hint of heat to the sauce and perfectly cooked pasta and shrimp. This dish was cooked to satisfy most pallets, and quite enjoyable.

2 adults 2 kids arrived around 6pm on Monday and had no wait time to have a table on the patio with a wonderful view. Service was swift and waitress checked-in often, went back to kitchen to ask a question but forgot one and said “I don’t know”, which was not a deal breaker as she was very kind and accommodating for dessert. Ordered 2 soft tacos which were very good. Kids meal had 2 chicken fingers, a third one would be nice. Cocktail was good. Slightly pricier for the quantity of food served compared to other beachfront restaurants in the Georgian bay region. Overall we recommend and would return.

Balm Beach Bar & Smoke House. Tiny On Date of visit: Saturday June 8th, 2024 What a lovely little beach side eatery. On our way home from the Midland Butter Tart Festival, we decided to check out some other small towns in the area and find a spot for lunch. We came across the lakefront community of Balm Beach. Here, we discovered the Balm Beach Bar and smokehouse - a cute little beachfront shack. It has a cute little rooftop patio overlooking the beach. We ordered the Island chicken club sandwich and the Beef brisket sandwich. The sandwiches were well crafted and full of flavour. The service was great. Friendly and attentive waitresses. This is a lovely spot for a bite. If you park along the beach it is paid parking, and there will be meter readers coming by. several people got up and run to their cars at the site of a meter reader.
