Absolutely delicious. The woman who runs it is super nice too! She told me she’s been doing this since 1997 and uses really high quality ingredients. It shows! The cevapi was amazing.

Very nice person & cooked my son & I great sausages & hot dogs. Yes, so good we had 2 each. It is our go to Food Stand to go to in Toronto. We will be back, & try more on the menu. Thank you!

Great surprise, in a heart of downtown Toronto you can actually taste authentic Balkan food … me and my son stumbled across this food stand and we were pleasantly surprised not only with food but service as well. Freshness, taste and atmosphere are just asking for more. Affordable prices and quality friendly owner Sandra are going to bring as back. Thanks you for great experience

Run there. It's that good. $16.50 <tax included> gets you the best sandwich on hospital row, possibly even all of uni-rose. Chevapi is juicy, bouncy, but not heavy. Lepinja is fluffy, but also crispy from the char and the touch of love Sandra puts in. Topped with creamy kajmak <cheese spread>, and ajvar with onions and optionally tomatoes <if available> Don't sleep on this sandwich. Run there. Stop reading. Go. What are you waiting for?? She has ubereats, but... order direct. Cut out the middleman..

Being Serbian I had to try this place out! Last year I had ćevapi in Sarajevo and the owner Sandra makes them exactly the same, just perfection! I had Helluva hot dog and pljeskavica at the Balkan Girl Grill as well and I must say that I love this place! A lot of places make traditional food however it always comes out that something is missing and it doesn’t taste like back home however Sandra puts so much hard work and love in each dish she makes that they all taste delicious and it’s to the tee like food one would get in Belgrade, Sarajevo, Mostar, Skopje, Zagreb and so on. I definitely recommend anyone who never had Balkan food or the ones looking for traditional street food to try this spot out! I have no doubt that you will love it! Maybe some people would prefer that it was a restaurant setting however the idea of being able to get such a delicious food on a go is priceless! With crazy busy lives so many do not have time to utilize in their day to sit at the table in a restaurant for an hour or so. Most of the workers have half an hour to an hour break and having Balkan Girl Grill located on the University Street makes it so convenient. Sandra is also painting. Considering quite a few rainy days that we had in a last few weeks in Toronto she didn’t display any of her art nonetheless I am sure with the warmer weather that she will. Never knew anything about Balkan food, saw the image of the food and took a shot to try. Absolutely amazing food and the lady was super sweet. Fresh and delicious food. Really glad to have stumbled across this hidden gem.

I'm not sure how this woman can make street hotdogs so fantastic and distinct, but we were obsessed after we tried them for the first time. Everything about this place is fantastic, from the variety of sauces to the many different choices of food that even some dine-in restaurants don't have. Also, I think the most important "secret ingredient"—what gives the magic touch and makes the taste unforgettable—is love and care; everything is made with a lot of love. Even simple Italian sausage—oh myyyy—you have to see the way it was chopped and cooked and served on the ban. My hotdog was so delicious, we could not stop ordering extra. We would drive for more than an hour just to get here. I'm not sure if the hotdogs and other supplies are different than at other street hotdog stands, but the taste at this place is unforgettable. There are also numerous other yammy things, such as amaaaaaaazing chivapis, hamburgers, sossigies, and more. Oh my goodness, we can't wait to go back. It's always fantastic; the food is so fresh and well prepared; we always enjoy having chats with other people in line; keep in mind that it's a pretty busy place during lunch time. Go and try! Always amazing quality, always fresh, and made with such care. There's such a welcoming atmosphere and a feeling of complete comfort. This girl was able to transform ordinary cuisine into a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable experience. You will never be sorry if you go once. And, seriously, I believe this location deserves to be included in Toronto guidebooks as a truly unique and "must-try" destination; it is simply amazing!!!! Convinient location, price point, quality of food and overall ecxperience - 100 out of 10!!!
