Wonderful place to try out Sri Lankan food. Cheap cheap cheap !! And very tasty ! Beef Varuval was awesome and Poori Bhaji was delicious !! Very very affordable too. The service was excellent. He took our order and packed it up quick. Will definitely be back for more food. 20 idiyappam in a box for under 3$, you won’t get that anywhere else ! And 50 cent a piece for vada. Amazing ! Crispy soft vada ! Wish the store was close to me !

I discovered this place three years ago through a friend who is a loyal customer, and now I understand why! Their samosas are absolutely delicious. Even though it’s quite a distance from my home, this is always our go-to spot whenever we crave samosas. Highly recommend!

A virundhu (Feast) fit for an easy Friday! If your looking for a rich and flavourful meal, on a banana leaf in traditional Eelam Thamil culinary style, Babu’s has got you covered. They have a special on Friday, and the meal is enough for 2-2.5 people. Trust me, you’ll be full half way through. They add all the trimmings and you get to select rice and curry options while it’s prepared right in front of you. The payasam and pukkai at the end is the best. Try pouring it onto your banana leaf and eating it that way. For the authentic experience, you’ve got to toss the cutlery and eat it with your hand. It’s drool worthy! Oh, wrote I forget, if your looking for non-veg options, they have those options too. Just ask!

I ordered 9 breakfast combos for my office staff.. Whn one staff was having , she told me there is something so hard to bite .. I asked her there shouldn’t be , she took it out and there was a huge coconut shell piece in the sambal and so my other colleague experienced the same incident.. which was so terrible it could be life threatening as they could have got choked if they taught they should eat it .. I was happy I was there and could stop it his horrible incident.. as this is not their culture food so they didn’t know abt it .. Whn I called Babu restaurant the girl only said I am sorry that’s it … no regrets.. Whn I asked to spk to the manager she took my number and said he will call u , it’s been 2 days I am still waiting.. I am so disappointed with they way they handled the food service…

Friendly Staff and Good Customer Service. Vada really Great and 2 for $1. Breakfast Combo available until noon. Babu catering place open 6 AM in the morning. overall atmosphere okay. Also South Indian snack mixture package and BREADS are available. Great place for Vegetarians and Non-veg food lovers. Delivery available too

I ordered the sura pittu with fish curry and fish fry combo. To my horror, the fish fry was served uncleaned and uncut, with the insides still intact. Absolutely disgusting. I will never visit this shop again and strongly advise others to avoid it. Completely unhygienic.

One of the GREAT Takeout and Catering place in Scarborough and Celebrating 30 years in December 2023. Always busy with Indian food Lovers. Friendly Staff and Good Customer Service. Everyday Food Special Available. Vada really Great and 2 for $1. Breakfast Combo available until noon. Babu catering place open 6 AM in the morning. This place dark and not well organized, overall atmosphere okay. Also South Indian snack mixture package and BREADS are available. Great place for Vegetarians and Non-veg food lovers.
