We wanted to try authentic Greek cuisine. The recommendation from Devin and the service were awesome. We tried variety of dips with pita and the Greek village salad with souvlaki chicken was just so delicious and nutritious. Again , thank you to Devin and the team at Astoria

We had our annual Christmas dinner here with 35 people. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and all my guests loved it. We had appetizers, salads, and the main course, and all were served in a timely manner. Everyone especially loved the flaming cheese. All my guests commented that the food was very delicious and many want to come back to this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great job Astoria. Note: they offer an event special for large groups which include appetizers, salad, main entree’s and all you can drink, pop and coffee and tea, which was a really good deal.

For a kabob place, the food quality is decent. The location is very homey and comfortable. However, the service was lacking a bit as we had trouble getting the server's attention at the end of the meal. Further, this restaurant is slightly overpriced for the quality of food.

Melika was amazing from start to finish. The top of the line service always had a full glass of water food, but it was nothing but delicious, and portions were incredibly huge this would be my best experience. I will definitely be back 100%

Astoria Shish Kebob House - Richmond Hill: A Total Disappointment in Service and Quality On November 12, I had the unfortunate experience of placing a takeout order with the Richmond Hill location of Astoria Shish Kebob House. I ordered a large lamb souvlaki dinner with rice and potatoes, requesting extra red sauce on the side and one additional tzatziki. After a long and busy day, I was looking forward to enjoying a high-quality meal from a restaurant I had previously frequented. Instead, I encountered a frustrating and unprofessional experience. Upon arriving home after driving 20 km from the restaurant, I opened the bag to discover that my order was incorrect. There was no red sauce on the side, nor was there any red sauce on the rice as per the required plating. This was an inexcusable oversight, especially considering the $50 price tag for a single meal. When I called the restaurant to report the issue at approximately 7:41 PM, I spoke with the “supervisor” on duty, who offered a dismissive response: "Sorry, but I can’t do anything for you." This lack of accountability was compounded when I requested her name, and she refused to provide it, claiming it was the “protocol” as directed by the owner. She stated that “Perry,” the owner, would contact me the following day. When I pressed further, she reiterated that there was nothing she could or would do to resolve the issue, despite the restaurant having failed to fulfill my order correctly. Her statement—"Sorry, I never did anything wrong, so I can't do anything"—perfectly encapsulated the sheer indifference and lack of professionalism displayed by this establishment. As I feared, Perry never called, and I received no follow-up from anyone at Astoria. This reflects a complete lack of regard for customer satisfaction or resolution of errors caused by their staff. Having frequented various Astoria locations over the years, I can confidently say that the Richmond Hill location is by far the worst in terms of service, professionalism, and quality. The food provided was substandard, with the rice so dry it was nearly inedible—nothing like the plated meals shown in the restaurant’s promotional materials. For a $50 meal, I have now expended over an hour and a half of my time dealing with incompetence, indifference, and a refusal to resolve the situation. This experience highlights systemic issues at this location: poor staff training, lack of accountability, and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Advice for future customers: Triple-check every aspect of your order before leaving this location because the staff here is evidently incapable of doing so. Don’t expect professional service or any form of resolution should an issue arise—it seems you’ll only get excuses and avoidance. Astoria Shish Kebob House in Richmond Hill has permanently lost my business, and I will actively warn others to avoid this location. This establishment is a disservice to the Astoria name and what it claims to represent.

I had the moussaka with potatoes and rice. I never had it before and I wanted to try it. It was okay tasting but I wouldn't order it again. Next time, I'll just order a souvlaki. The restaurant is large, nicely decorated and has high ceilings. The service was okay but not initially welcoming or friendly.

This dinner was $30.26. The plate is so small, it’s usually used for the side dish. They call it chicken souvlaki PLATER. I’m so disgusted and disappointed. This is a take out and everywhere else it’s $15-$17. Definitely not going back.

The food was overall good. The salad was big and I really liked the veggies and cheese, but near the end of the salad it was soaked in the dressing which is very sour. The large chicken souvlaki was super tasty and the fries were amazing and crunchy, but pricing it at $30.50 is a bit high. The regular salmon was $23 and was well cooked, just a bit small and weirdly long and narrow, but the price is more reasonable. Spent over $70 for this dinner after tax and tip, not sure if I’ll be back for the dinner but they do have a good deal during lunch on weekdays for $15 for chicken souvlaki.
