Value value value. Mama and Papa shop serving up large portions at a fair price. Good Cantonese food with an extensive menu. Their specialty is congee (rice porridge), but their noodle stir-fries are also good. A great choice for takeout on nights you don't feel like cooking. They don't speak English well, so review the menu and order by number. Also asked them how long, when it gets busy it can take an hour. They don't communicate this well if you do not ask. My reviews take into account what's around at a similar price point. Support local mama papa shops like this

It's so sad, we've been ordering from here over 10 years. The lady used to be SO nice, ordered on Christmas day. She was yelling on the phone. I went in to pick up my food that I placed with her. Once again yelling their closed. I told her it's OK to be nice and Merry Christmas.... CUSTOMER SERVICE TERRIBLE, SHES SO RUDE AND MISERABLE....

Easily the worst customer service/person answering the phone taking orders. “Ann” tells me that food will be an hour to pick up because they have party trays to make, I say okay and then she says it’ll be 1.5 hrs. So now I’m confused. I give her my order which is 8 dishes, because I’m ordering for a family gathering and “Ann” says oh how come you order so much?? I guess they don’t want us to order from? Very confused again. “Ann” is pushy on the phone. “Ann” is aggressive on the phone. Not much choice in this area since Congee Wong at Promenade closed down. And I’ve eaten at many of the congee brand restaurants. The food is okay, but if anyone has an alternative to this place, please let me know.

My friend and I tried Ann’s Congee yesterday for the first time and we both loved it. We ordered eggplant and bean curd, mixed vegetable fried rice, egg rolls and spring rolls. We were going to order more, but Ann kindly and thoughtfully informed us that her portions were quite large and that we would probably be fine with just that. She was right! Everything looked and tasted delicious. And the portions WERE generous, so we were able to enjoy her yummy food again for a second meal. The restaurant only has a few tables for sitting, so we were lucky there was one available. And because we came at an off time and there was no one waiting for our table, my friend and I were able to sit and catch up without feeling like we were pressured to leave. I read a few reviews that commented on a lack of friendliness, but we found Ann to be very lovely and thoughtful. She made a great impression, and helpful suggestions. Thank you for the wonderful meal, Ann! I can’t wait to come back to try more dishes :)

One of the best Chinese food spots in town. Quality and quantity definitely hits the spot. There is only 2 tables for dine-in so it’s mostly takeout. But if you’re not in a rush to be anywhere I would recommend actually sitting there and eating as nothing beats fresh out of the wok. Servings are quite generous and it’s as authentic tasting as it gets. Order wayyyy ahead on weekends or be prepared to wait more than 1-2hrs. Best part is Ann calls you when your order is ready so you don’t waste your time. We moved out of the area and I STILL drive all the way here! 🤣

Great tasting authentic Chinese food, you can hear the wok as you enter the store! I always place a call ahead of time for pick-up. Don't expect a friendly customer service as she is very direct and to the point. Know what items you want by the numbers/letters from the menu on their website (eg: B2,N3,etc) and she will repeat the items back to you at the end. They take cash, no credit. She includes their in house chili oil as well and utensils if needed. There are about 3 small tables inside if you choose to dine-in (no experience with that). Prices are on the higher side in par with Congee Queen almost but the quantity makes up for it. Glad to have a Chinese restaurant in Vaughan so I don't have to drive all the way to Markham when craving Chinese food!!

Great little spot. Food came out quick and hot. Ann was wonderful and gave us good recommendations for what to order. Portions were good for the price. Would definitely recommend the turnip! The only thing is some menu items say vegetarian but they might not be. Make sure to confirm if there is meat in a dish before ordering

A small gem within the town of Vaughan you must try if you love Chinese food. All the dishes we had in the picture below was cooked to perfection. The soup was just right with the seasoning, texture and taste. Not to mention, competitors who make the same soup usually is more soup than water, but this dish was packed with ingredients for you money's worth! The honey garlic chicken had enough garlic taste but not too overwhelming that it destroys the lovely fragrance and sweet taste of the honey. The chicken itself was still nice and juicy with the flavor of the garlic and honey still washing in your mouth. The fried squid was not at all oily but also delivers the crunchiness and tenderness just like biting into freshly cooked squid. Other dishes which include the coliflower was perfected so the crunchiness remains but also soft enough that it releases the flavor of lightly soaked soy sauce and salt. Overall the food was excellent, definitely recommend trying it out! They offer delivery services for Ubereats and Skip the Dishes. So you can try it out at the comfort of your own home!
