ANGLR is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.
Located in Leslieville, Anglr serves a contemporary comfort-food menu of sea & vegetarian/Vegan inspired dishes. We also serve local beer, wine(import) and cocktails. We aim to serve all diet types. Our menu is celiac friendly with almost all menu items custom ordered to be gluten-free and a designated fryer used for cooking, 0 cross-contamination. The Welton brothers have been doing a celiac friendly menu since 2011. Anglr staff is very knowledgeable with gluten free items, we pride ourselves in that! Unlike those loud and aggressive street patios, our back patio an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Toronto life. Full of greenery, peace and quietness. Definitely makes for a wonderful meal! See you soon at ANGLR !!!

Fish and chips were standard, wish I got the shrimp burger like my partner did, that was so much better

Follow @bredgyeats for more food pictures! This restaurant has got me hooked like an angler fish to its prey, but I really didn't mind being trapped eating these salivating servings of seafood. The crab cakes were so naturally sweet, with a moist and meaty texture that contrasted with a breadcrumb crust seared to an attractive golden brown. Each bite is elevated with a squeeze of brightness of lemon and mayo, along with the fish and chips too. Battered in a crispy cajun-seasoned batter that's as crispy as a potato chip and thin like one too, it traps in all of the moisture of the juicy haddock. The onion rings were also a throwback to the past when I used to frequent fast food.

Overall ANGLR is a great little hidden gem. I love that they have both seafood and a decent vegan menu for those people like myself who aren’t big on fish. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of the cauliflower tacos, which in my opinion were a 3/5. The cauliflower pieces were way too big and made it very hard/messy to eat and they were a bit too sour/tart. Adding something creamy would help. The shrimp dumplings were great and my husband enjoyed the fish and chips!

Anglr is an absolute gem, offering a combination of amazing food, impeccable service, and a fun, friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or a special night out, this spot consistently delivers. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that you’re well taken care of, making the service here truly stand out. The food is fantastic, with a menu full of fresh, flavorful options that cater to a variety of tastes. However, the real star of the show is their spicy margarita. Bold and perfectly balanced, it’s hands down the best I’ve had—just the right amount of kick to complement the overall experience. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, top-notch service, and a lively ambiance, Anglr is definitely worth a visit!

Look no further, you’ve come across the crown jewel of Toronto. As a local Leslievillian, Anglr is our go-to when we’re craving seafood and it has never disappointed. Let’s start with the food: the quality is superb, the portions are very generous and the flavours are to die for. There’s not one bad item on this menu, but my personal must-order items are the crab dip, the crab cakes, the brussel sprouts and the poutine. Outrageously good. Moving onto the atmosphere: indoors, you get a quaint, warm and cozy setting (beautifully decorated might I add). Outdoors, you get an intimate yet lively back patio in the summertime. So no matter the time of year, you’re guaranteed to get a proper experience. And finally, the service is top-notch. We love this place so much that we were bold enough to ask the co-owner Chad if we could host a party of 30 for a rehearsal dinner. And of course, Chad, who is by far one of the most personable and charismatic people I’ve ever met in the restaurant industry, was so accommodating and easygoing. Every single one of our guests had a ball and raved about the food. This is a true family-run business that treats its customers like they are one of their own, and I wouldn’t hesitate to host another big party at Anglr. Highly, highly recommend!

Went with a good friend who has been raving about Anglr for a while and we decided to pop in for a bite to eat. The owner Chad greeted us and gave us great information about the menu and portions and flavours. We ordered the cauliflower bites in Korean sauce and had a fish burrito. OMG it was all amazing!! The hot sauces offered were also super tasty, as I’m a hot sauce fan! The flavours and quality are absolutely delicious. Chad is delivering a high standard of quality here. I will absolutely be coming back! Great atmosphere, food and service all around. Highly recommend!

Such a great spot with the cutest hidden patio in the back. Chad (one of the owners) was serving us and was so attentive and personable. He recommended the cauliflower bites, which were SO good. I usually find that cauliflower bites tend to be pretty small. But these were so plump and crispy, which came with a sweet but not too sweet Korean glaze. It was also on top of a creamy sauce of some sort to balance out any of the sweetness. I also got three tacos: grilled halibut, fried calamari and the fried shrimp. They were all cooked perfectly, however the calamari one was definitely my favourite. I do wish the tacos could have a bit of variation in the toppings, but that would be my only note! My friend got the lamb burger and sweet potato fries. I didn’t try her burger but she ate it all so I can only assume it was yummy. I definitely snuck a few of her fries and they were fried perfectly. They also have some local beers on tap which is fun! Next time I will definitely have to try their fish and chips. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who wants great food with just as great customer service. *they also have great gluten free options as well*

What a gem of Leslieville! We dined at their cozy patio that had heaters as it was a bit chilly. The service was excellent. And the food was amazing. The best fish and chips we've had in a long time, it literally melts in your mouth, so crispy and fresh. Calamari and shrimp tacos were also great and we enjoyed the shrimp dumplings as well. Their red wine sangria is delicious. Will definitely be back!
