Went for the first time with my daughter last Wednesday, November 27, 2024 and I was IMPRESSED!!! What a beautiful quaint little spot! So well decorated and super clean! The owner couldn’t have been any nicer if he tried, and the food was incredible 🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥🔥. Great portion sizes, very tasty food; authentic Caribbean cuisine!! Perfect for small gatherings, parties, business meetings, or just lunch or dinner !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Jerk Chicken had just the right balance of heat and sweet. The curried chicken had an amazing depth of flavour amazing from the blend of fresh herbs. Finally, I was very impressed with their hot sauce, which I got in the side, made with Carolina Reapers: so good. I'm definitely going back.

We got takeout from Aneal's Taste of the Islands on a Saturday evening. It was quite busy when we entered, but the food was made relatively quickly. We got the oxtail stew with rice, goat curry with rice, and chicken stew in a roti. The oxtail stew and rice was my favourite. I wish we'd gotten the goat curry in the roti instead because the flavour of the roti was delicious. The dal filling inside the roti is different at this restaurant and both my partner and myself really enjoyed it. The quantity of food was filling and we definitely plan to return whenever we are in the area.

I had the luck of catching them before closing. The owner is a beauty, a very kind and welcoming man. Ordered the Large Jerk Chicken Leg and Thigh with Peas and Rice, as well as the Large Stew Oxtail Peas and Rice. Was very glad to see that the owners were Trinidadian, as I tend to appreciate their flavours and style more so than Jamaican. TheJerk Chicken was cooked amazing, it was tender juicy and full of flavours. My opinion Trinidadians cook their jerk chicken more to my liking than Jamaicans do. The rice was cooked a little soft but had tons of sauce and jerk sauce on top. I enjoyed it and it packed a bit of heat which I loved. The oxtail was tender but not too many flavours. The pieces were also majority bone and hardly had meat on them but I can’t put that on the owner as it was the oxtail cut they had. The coleslaw was nice, nothing special but it was creamy. Overall I would definitely come back for the Jerk Chicken and I recommend the Jerk Chicken to anyone, I would also get a small order of rice just to munch on. Keep in mind the rice has some heat to it so if you’re like my wife it will be too overwhelming for you. I want to try The Shark Sandwich and the Wild Boar with Macaroni Pie next.

Have been to Aneal’s twice so far and both times I have been impressed by the food. An important factor for me is price and for the serving size they give it’s hard to beat. The owner is super nice and recognizes my coworkers by name. He checked in on me because I ordered medium spice and despite him toning it down I needed extra drinks which he gave me free of charge. Best jerk chicken I’ve been to.

I wish I knew about this place earlier! The food is so flavourful and definitely made with love. Tried the goat curry entrée and the fried catfish weekend special with 2 filets, mac and cheese pie and rice. Huge portions and super flavourful! I loved the coleslaw as well, it was light and perfectly balanced with the other dishes (probably one of the best I’ve ever had). Aneal came out to personally greet us and even gave us free samples of their duck curry which they have every other Saturday and wild boar curry on Fridays and Saturdays! My favourite was the wild boar, it was not too gamey and had delicious fatty pieces. Would definitely come back to try their rotis and housemade desserts!

Great little spot for some excellent Island Food. Pleasant owner with a fantastic sense of humor. A few seats but lends itself more to takeout. Comfortable and big windows to watch people drive by Yonge St. Now for the food. The food was good. Really loved the hot sauce which had great heat and flavor. We had the Boar stew in a Roti and the BBQ Chicken with Mac and Cheese. The Boar stew was fantastic. Tender and juicy. The Roti wrap itself was a little dry and more flaky than I am used to. Chicken was really juicy, loads of BBQ flavor. The Mac was top notch. Crunchy crust on top with soft and smooth macaroni below. Definitely will be going back again soon.

Visited here for a birthday lunch and I have to mention that this is by far the best food in this area and the tastiest West Indian food I have tried thus far. The owner, Aneal, took time to greet us and engage in a great conversation. He also recommended daily specials which were delicious. We ordered the BBQ Mac&Cheese which had its own unique twist and is definitely a must-try. The catfish was served with a side of rice and coleslaw was amazing as well. Overall, this place gets a 10/10 for not only it’s amazing food but the spectacular service provided.
