Amy's Fish & Chips

Decided to check out this fish and chips place. Decided to dine in as it was a bit far from our place. Went in and ordered for dine in. We both got two halibut and chips. The atmosphere is not the greatest if you are dining in but the food was great. The lightly buttered halibut tasted amazing and was well cooked. The chips were ok, but the fish did not disappoint. The reason I knocked off a star was because of the small portion of tartar sauce which was amazing. For two chips you barely get enough for one. I definitely think they shouldn’t be so stingy about tartar sauce. Other than that this place was definitely worth trying.

I drove 30 minutes to try this place. I was very impressed. You could tell the haddock was breaded fresh and not frozen and they make their own tartar sauce. Service was great. Small little shop. The fries were excellent. Each table had vinegar and malt highly recommended and price wasn't too bad. Good job Amy's fish and chips

Called in for a takeout order, been wanting to try this place out as my other usual place had closed down. Gentlemen on the phone was very polite and provided pricing and answers to my questions. 15 mins for pick up and was ready beforehand which was nice. Atmosphere is fitting for a fish and chio place not sure what others are expecting. Ordered the halibut meal for 2 + order of scallops. The meal came with an order of chips decent sized with 4 packets of tartar sauce. The halibut was a good size with not a lot of batter it was the same size of the fish. I'll definitely be back when the craving strikes again.

Fish was very crispy and a decent sized portion. Vibe inside was lacking, noisy, and cluttered. Tartar sauce was very bland, they barely give you any, and they charge you for more.

Second time visiting here. Happy with the fish here. Today I had their single halibut with chips Fish was very good and batter was light and cooked perfectly. The only thing I feel a bit skimpy is on the tartar sauce. The paper I will call you back they give you is enough for two bites at most. I mean would it hurt you to have a bigger serving. Yes I see they have a sign offer to sell more to me but as you can see from the picture I’m not exaggerating , look how tiny the I will call you back is. Other than that if you want a decent Fish and Chips this place should do.

I’ll admit that the interior is pretty ……simple? date? old style? But hey! For the price, don’t expect a fancy decor! To be honest, the menu is a bit difficult to read and I don't want to be a fussy customer and ask for paper menu (I did see a few on the counter). This place can definitely charge a bit more, and get more customers, if they revamp their interior and menu, plus marketing. The oil isn't the best condition, it' acceptable, but again, it is not charging u a premium. I ordered cod & chips for $10.75 (after tax $12.15). It's a big piece of fish, taste ok, not too much batter, and order to cook. It's still very hot when I got home. I believe the owner speaks Cantonese. Overall, if you are near this location, don't hesitate to give it a try! Your money goes to the food quality, not the decor or service.

I have been meaning to try this place for a long time and finally got a chance to do so. Luckily I ran into Amy who was helpful and helped me order. I ordered the Habilbut for 5 family meal. It was delicious and excellent for the price. I also was pleasantly surprised by the amazing thick cut fries. I will definitely be coming back to try the shrimp and scallops!

Nice mom & pop business, 2 owners/staff we're friendly and accommodating. Large parking lot so no worries on finding parking Ordered 2 lunch specials (cod or haddock), fries & pop $9.95. Great deal as fries were plentiful, crispy and one large fish portion. A slight wait as fish/fries are cooked to order. Fish has a nice light tempura like batter which compliments the fish. Fries were hand cut and not the frozen variety As usually, why is it only a small portion of tartar sauce given verses the amount of fish, must be a conspiracy amongst all the fish & chip restaurants to limit the amount of tartar sauce given to customers. They did have malt vinegar & ketchup on the tables though. Very pleasant lunch and value for your money
