Excellent food and attentive service. Our group of 5 came for lunch and was very satisfied. Focciciao bread, truffle salad, beef carpaccio and Crazy pizza to start - pizza was our favourite! Bolognese pasta, beef short ribs were delicious mains. Cannolis hit the spot for dessert. Shoutout to our waiter for knowledgeable suggestions and cool vibe.

Amano Trattoria is a charming Italian restaurant with a cozy, rustic ambiance that makes for a welcoming dining experience. The menu offers a range of classic Italian dishes. The pasta and the sauces are rich and flavorful without being too heavy. The service at Amano Trattoria is attentive and friendly. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu, ready to provide recommendations. However, the prices are quite steep. While the food quality is high, the portion sizes could be more generous to justify the cost. Expect to pay a premium for the experience, and it may feel slightly overpriced, especially if you’re dining with a larger group or trying multiple dishes. One downside is the limited parking. Only street parking is available, which can be challenging, especially during busy times. The inconvenience of finding a spot might detract from the experience if you’re unfamiliar with the area. In summary, Amano Trattoria is worth a visit if you’re seeking good Italian cuisine and attentive service in a cozy setting. However, due to the high prices and parking difficulties, it may not be a place I’d return to frequently.

Overall, a good experience with decent food and lovely interior. Large space with good layout where the ambience gave you enough privacy to speak to your group without being able to hear other tables. The music was at the right volume and the service was good (but not the best we've seen). We were here for a birthday and had a group of 6. We got a lovely table by the window and in the corner. We were able to talk and hear everyone but not hear the table beside us. The ambience was excellent and good for bigger groups! The food was alright, the buratta was amazing and the bread which was torched was burned perfectly with just that hint of smokiness. The octopus was perfectly cooked with a gorgeous sauce (albeit a touch small for the price). The pizza, however, wasn't our favourite. The bread was too dense without that much flavour and the scissors they provided was like two butter knives glued together. The pasta was better than the pizza and had good bite and overall better flavour. Finally, the service was mediocre. We got okay attention, the server was nice enough but we waited a pretty long time for food. The server also forgot a dish so we just sat and waited until we received it, but since they forgot, they basically left us alone and then came back and asked if we wanted anything else. Overall, I would return and forgo the pizza.

Amano Trattoria is one of the most delicious upscale Italian restaurants in Downtown Toronto. With a relaxing, quiet atmosphere, you will enjoy your meal since you enter from the door to the minute you exit. A well decorated place with the right amount of tables and attentive servers to take care of you during your meal. While pizzas here are greatly cooked and offer distinctive ones like mortadella and pistachio pizza, I definitely recommend this restaurant to try and enjoy their pasta plates. Generous portions, savory, al dente and attentive to every detail when serving the dish. Al ragu pasta is always a choice you must try, but specially in this place they slow cook it until the sauce is dense and juicy. Dessert here is a piece of art. Tiramisu is presented in cup, topped with drops of white and black chocolate. The one I personally recommend is the canolli. What a dessert, with pieces of milk chocolate that it is clearly home made will surprise your taste bads. They have an extensive carte of wines and cocktails. Unfortunately, the prices of wine are exaggerated. They sell bottles of wine double-triple the price you can find them in the market. Sometimes it is the experience what you pay, but not here… I recommend this restaurant for that special meal where you want to celebrate something, surprise family or friends, or simply try very good pasta in the center of Toronto

We had a fabulous dinner at Amano. Service was great! The food was more than we could have expected. Plus we got the discount on a bottle of wine on Sunday. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. We had beef carpaccio, octopus, spaghetti with pesto, rigatoni bolognese and the cavatelli. Dessert was the dark chocolate cake. Highly recommend Amano!

Decided to try this place after seeing all the positive reviews. Overall it’s very mediocre food with insanely high prices. This place is more suitable for business dinners, or after work drinks, don’t expect to get a real meal here without spending $200+. For the same price, there are better Italian options in the area. Portion is tiny, we ordered the charcoal octopus which was $28, for the tiny octopus leg….. pizza was overly oily, pasta too undercooked. Would not come back and would not recommend.

I recently hosted a birthday event for 12 guests at Amano Trattoria, a restaurant I've enjoyed in the past. My expectations were high, given my previous positive experience, but this visit was a mixed bag. The booking process was smooth, with clear communication and flexibility in making adjustments to the pre-selected menu. The restaurant allowed us to arrive 15 minutes early to set up, accommodating our decorations around the table, which was appreciated. We had a pre-ordered four-course menu featuring an Appetizer, Pasta, Mains, and Dessert. The evening started on a promising note with the service being prompt initially. However, as the restaurant became busier, the service noticeably declined, leaving our large group feeling overlooked. The manager also got very passive with our table, near the end of our service - as if to rush us! I just finished eating a four course menu, let me digest the food!! The server we started off with was kind and engaging, afterwards we were just thrown plates at us and couldn't get a waiter to grab our plates or attend to us when we needed them! We felt so out of place - even though my party was paying a lot to be dining with them. The disrespect was unreal! Appetizers: The charred octopus, a dish many of us opted for, was unfortunately overcooked and excessively chewy, with a portion size that felt underwhelming for the price. In contrast, the beef carpaccio was a standout, beautifully plated with flavors that were well-balanced and enhanced by the pickled mushrooms. Pasta: The Rigatoni was decent but lacked any distinctiveness that would set it apart from more casual dining options. It didn’t live up to the standard I had experienced during my previous visit. Mains: The Slow Roasted Porchetta was satisfactory, though the chicharron didn’t complement the pork belly as well as it could have. However, the rapini provided a good contrast, adding a layer of complexity to the dish. The Grilled Branzino was the highlight of the meal, offering a generous portion with a beautifully balanced flavor profile. The olive sauce set it apart, and the contrast of vegetables used was very well-thought-out, making it a fine dining dish. Unfortunately, the lamb dish was a major disappointment. It consisted of shaved lamb shoulder served on a plate with nero purée and sumac yogurt, which complemented each other well, but there was no cohesiveness to the dish when combined. The presentation was unappealing, with the lamb resembling a pile of shaved pieces that looked like someone had vomited on the plate. Desserts: By the time dessert arrived, we were too full to fully enjoy it, which affected our experience. The Tiramisu met expectations, but the torte and financier cake were underwhelming. In hindsight, a three-course menu might have been a better choice. Overall, the quality of the food has clearly declined since my last visit. Below are pictures comparing my previous dining experience with the most recent one before the polaroid, and the ones during my previous dining experience after. As you can see, the differences are stark! While there were some positive aspects, the evening was marred by slow service and the impression that our party was deprioritized compared to another group dining in a private room. Despite arriving earlier and ordering in advance, we experienced long delays, which dampened the celebratory atmosphere. To say I was disappointed on my special day is an understatement. In conclusion, Amano Trattoria may excel in smaller, more intimate dining experiences, but it is neither prepared nor skilled to host large groups effectively. For those planning a significant event, I would strongly recommend choosing another venue

We came to Toronto to celebrate my Birthday and was advised by a local to come here...we were THRILLED by the experience. The service from the entire team was top-notch, vibe/atmosphere was perfection and the food...oh.my.gosh. DELICIOUS. To start, we had the Provolone & Pear Arancini and Crochetta. DELICIOUS. Conservative portions, but we got a second and main dishes, so it was plenty. Second, we shared a Bologna Pride pinsa (roman style pizza). Incredible. You cut it with these heavy sheers and it's honestly gratifying hearing the snap from each cut LOL. For our Mains, we had the Spaghetti al Pesto and Grilled Duck Breast. So much flavor for both dishes. The duck was cooked as requested. Both sizable portions! For dessert, they brought me a delectable treat and the manager Raff also treated us to a dessert wine (moscato i believe). The only critique I have is that the bread/olive oil to start was a bit bland. Thank you to our server Vinya, manager Raff and the entire team that took care of us. The decor and aesthetic are top-notch. This would be a fabulous spot for any celebration, a romantic date night, intimate gathering etc. FABULOUS.
