Recently visited the restaurant during busy times. Me and my friend had to wait 30 minutes around Union station until I got tired of waiting for the text, and I asked how many teams are ahead of me. The host checked, and we were immediately seated to our table only to find out there were multiple free seats. I am not sure whether they forgot about us, but it was not a pleasant experience. However, the service going forward was very nice. 😈 The food on the other had was just downfall afterward. We shared the artichoke hearts, which had 0 flavor other than the dipping sauce (still not so good). No seasoning in the batter, the artichoke was not prepared the right way. We had multiple times where we had to pull out the chewy part out of our mouth(not the most polite or appetizing thing to do during the meal). For entree, we had the chicken & mushroom fettuccine and spicy sausage fettuccine. For the chicken & mushroom, there was no flavor in the cream sauce, actually not a lot of sauce on the plate to begin with. Small portion of chicken, maybe half a chicken breast. I was able to finish the pasta only bc the mushroom was overly salty, giving a somewhat broken balance. The spicy sausage was just 0 flavor. My girlfriend has been here a few times and I heard not bad reviews from my friends but it was a huge disappointment and I would not be coming back to this place. As we left, I saw other tables with so many leftovers in the plates. Hopefully, they will fix the problem in the kitchen soon and be better in the future.

Honest review The special house made spaghetti with white truffle cream sauce mushrooms and guanciale was simply amazing. Unbelievable balance of fresh pasta, white truffle and a hint of herb and acid that is enhanced by the mushroom and guanciale. The calamari to start had a nice fry but was a bit rubbery and seemed to be missing some pop even with the chili and chipotle sauce. The porchetta sandwich was unfortunately just not very good. I recall getting a prochetta sandwich at an Italian bakery and having the attentive, friendly yet strict Italian lady scold me when I asked for additional toppings. Lol. No she said, only mustard and pickles. It was the perfect comfort food with melt in your mouth pork and the right sour heat from the mustard and crunch and acid from the pickles on fresh Italian bread. The porchetta sandwich here did a disservice to that comfort food memory. The pork was dry and pan fried, the brioche bun out of place and a taste of heavy mayo didn’t help. For a place that makes great pasta true to tradition it should honour the porchetta sandwich. But to be fair my wife liked it. Lol. For desert the affogato was phenomenal with house made gelato and beautiful espresso. The tiramisu was good but not great. Service was good. We would definitely come back for the pasta. A+

This place defied expectations! I stopped in for a drink and lunch and sat at the lovely bar. My server Robert gave exquisite service throughout my meal and made me feel very welcome to stay as long as I wanted to. Despite the location in busy Union Station, my meal (prosciutto and pear flatbread) was superb and I found myself quite relaxed despite a long day of work travel. I saw Robert seat a few more solo guests and impart the same excellent service; he’s truly a gem (and incredibly professional and efficient). All the food looked delicious and the servings were generous (given the fairly reasonable prices). I had to box up my leftovers. I initially came for their good wine list and menu but will return for the service next time I pass through! The ambiance is also worth noting — music not too loud, lighting bright enough but soft (so I felt somewhat attractive despite my 3am wake up — no easy feat!). Lots of regulars coming and going. Elegant space (again, could forget I was in the train station!).

Went here before a concert and it was the perfect spot to be nearby. I had the burrata, calamari, and share some desserts. Everything was a great portion, tasty, and bright out quickly. The waitress was super friendly. We had a great time.

Excellent meal! It’s hand made pasta. Robert our server recommend the options, he was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for your service! I would definitely recommend this place while you’re waiting for your next train.

I stopped by Amano for lunch with my husband and a friend during our brief visit to Toronto. The convenient location within Union Station was a major plus, given our tight schedule and upcoming flight. The ambiance was decent, although not particularly memorable. The service was slightly better, with friendly and attentive staff. The portion sizes were generous, but unfortunately, the taste didn't quite live up to our expectations. The food was okay, but nothing special or noteworthy. Overall, Amano is a decent one-time dining option, especially considering its convenient location. However, it didn't leave a lasting impression, and I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it.

Ordered the mushroom truffle spaghetti and fries. Overall, taste was good. The spaghetti initially tasted salty but I got used to the taste, tasted pretty well Environment is pretty laid back, not a lot of people. When I came, which was before 6, I was able to find a table quickly without waiting Good service. Smaran is a pretty chill guy. We talked about presto, discount, he even showed me the way to put the card on Apple Pay, which I never knew Good experience, had fun

Absolutely stunning meal at Amano! Everything was so flavourful and once you’re in, you hardly even remember you’re in Union Station. My favourite things were for sure the broccoli salad (so unique and fresh!), the calamari, and the cannoli but everything was delish! Can’t wait to come back every time i’m at Union station!
