Alobar Yorkville is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.

Alobar is tucked along a pathway in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. It puts its foot forward as a cocktail bar, but is in fact a full-fledged restaurant, offering choice raw items with fine accoutrements, fish and chops off of the charcoal grill, and world-class wines… all served with a genuine sense of welcome.

Booked dinner for two Sunday evening. Ordered Beet Salad, Ricotta Mezzelune, Whole Grilled Lobster, Dover Sole, Broccolini and two cocktails totalling ~$340. Service and food was great. Also conveniently located right up the elevator from 158 Cumberland St underground parking garage. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent dinner, even better service and ambiance. A bit more of a casual Michelin starred dinner. Food is VERY rich. The parfait, confit duck pappardelle and banana cream pie were standouts, as well as the cocktails and wine selection.

The best dinner service I have experienced in my entire life, and the best food I've ever eaten in Canada, no word of a lie or exaggeration. It was my 40th birthday celebration and the waitstaff went out of their way to make us feel incredibly special. I highly appreciated their attention to very fine details with setting the table, responses to questions, and even how they responded to thank you. They even folded my napkin for me when I went to the washroom, which was more beautiful and put together than a hotel. Truly outstanding and magnificent experience. Then there was the food. So fresh and flavourful with a lot of depth, with flavours that hit at different times. It was like layers upon layers of nuanced flavours that were very difficult to not appreciate. The pasta was fresh, the spinach was done very creatively and deliciously, and dessert was truly delightful. I couldn't finish everything 100% because I was stuffed from the meal. I just want to let the team know to keep up the incredible work and set the standard on what a good restaurant's service and food should look like. It was so well done I had tears in my eyes on how spectacular and spot-on everything was, and I'm very thankful for you. Truly well done, and thank you for celebrating my 40th with me and inviting me for dinner!!

We came here for an anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed it here. It was raining that day, but we were able to get a table in the patio as it was covered. The servers were super attentive, always refilling our waters and checking in on how we were doing throughout the meal. We were given complementary sparkling wine upon our arrival as we had indicated in our reservation that we were celebrating an anniversary. The food was very good! We had the beef carpaccio, Hokkaido scallops, confit duck pappardelle, grilled Spinach, and their beef tenderloin of the day. I highly recommend the beef carppacio and the duck pappardelle. Everything was flavorful and portions are decent too! The pricing was also very reasonable. I would definitely come back and try their other items!

We got a Saturday evening reservation on the patio. Unfortunately my companion was over 30 mins late but I was not rushed to order at all. Overall, the service here is stellar. The hostess and servers were all patient and friendly throughout our entire dining experience. We tried a significant part of the menu: Alobar wedge salad - tasty but not really outstanding in my opinion Foie gras parfait - not really to my taste 10oz tenderloin with mushrooms (special) - the steak was high quality Confit Duck pappardelle - my favourite dish and the only outstanding one in my opinion. The duck was well cooked and had a smoky flavour French Fries - solid Broccolini - cooked in high quality olive oil Pain au lait (bread) - good bread Banana cream pie - so yummy! The heavier dessert with rum sauce and a lot of chocolate Mille-feuille - very light and delicious if you are full Overall the food was only "good" and not every dish was worth the high price. I recommend getting the desserts and the duck papardelle the most. The other dishes were not outstanding. The portion sizes are not too small, and the desserts are pretty large. The vibes here are pretty corporate/minimal/classy, dress business casual or better. There is also a separate indoor area for private events.

I had a great experience dining at Alobar Yorkville. The space is small but cozy, which can make reservation tricky due to the limited spot. Upon entering, the service and hospitality was very well executed. Every single dish that I ordered were amazing and satisfying to savor every single bite of it. The menu is limited in options, which demonstrate how well each dish is curated and prepared. I was fortunate sit by the countertop by the kitchen area to immerse in the culinary show and see the chefs prepared each dish. Highly recommend this spot, and would love to visit again!

We tried the Beef Carpaccio (highly recommend), Grilled Sea Bream (not a big standout but still really good!), Confit Duck Pappardelle (very interesting and will order again), Foie Gras Parfait (very pretty presentation, we ordered it as part of appetizer), and Banana Cream Pie (we didn’t expect to eat it all since we’re so full, but it was really good). Each dish was perfectly prepared, with standout flavors like the chive aioli on the carpaccio and the rum caramel in the banana cream pie. We opted for the Flight 199 mocktail, and the server thoughtfully split it into two glasses for us without being asked, enhancing our experience. The ambiance is relaxed and the location is prime in Yorkville. The server was very helpful, providing all necessary menu details. They open at 5 PM, but note they don’t have happy hour like their downtown location. Overall, a wonderful evening with attentive service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

I came here on a weeknight for dinner. I ordered this cocktail that looked pretty on Instagram but did not taste that pretty in real life. On the other hand, the food here was amazing. The highlights of my meal were the Iberian pork chop and white asparagus. The chop was thick, juicy, and flavorful. The asparagus had this herb salad on top that was extremely refreshing. Dessert was cute and yummy as well. Service is great.
