Allwyn's Jerk (Oshawa)

The oxtail and rice and peas tasted like absolute TRASH. I would not give this food to my dog. I spent over $50 on two orders of oxtail and the food was NOT edible. I had to spit out the piece that I put in my mouth and I only took one bite. With the second order my partner took a few bites and couldn’t stomach to eat any further. I was in the parking lot so I decided to go back in to say something about the state of the food. This is the first time I have ever asked for a refund for food. The chef agreed to a refund. His words to the cashier were ‘them come good give them back them money’ but the cashier refused to issue the refund. The cashier TOOK BACK the food. The chef then ordered the cashier to give me something instead some patties, he suggested 6 patties and some drinks and the cashier refused and only gave me two patties and two drinks for my order. I would stay away from this establishment. The food is bad and the cashier is unethical. I had to leave and get something at another resturant. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place has the best patties in Durham! Great atmosphere, great vibe and amazing food. The music is fun and always bumping! It’s a must go to!

Highly recommended Susan and Luna was amazing customer service. I’ve been coming here since they had the first location in Toronto and this is their next location. It’s amazing to see their growth. Next level of food. Highly recommended.

My husband is doing a circuit - taste testing Caribbean Roti in the Durham and surrounding areas. This is what he says: Allwyn's ranks # 1 out of 5 so far for Food. The Roti was good, curry was FANTASTIC. Wishing these restaurants had spices available to season as per my tastes. Wishing the portion size was a little bigger. The atmosphere didn't have the Caribbean Vibe and it felt very "fast food". This is a in/out fast food environment so if you're looking for the Caribbean Feel - you'll have to feel it in the car.

I have been craving good jerk chicken for a while now and haven't found any place that tastes good. My coworker recommended this place and we went there for lunch today. Let me tell you, this was the best lunch I've had. I had the boneless jerk chicken small meal and it was moist and tender with just the right amount of kick to make it tasty without being crazy spicy. Make sure you add the gravy to the rice. I've found my place and highly recommend this little gem to anyone who wants great food!

The service was great but can’t say the same about the food. Unfortunately, the coco bread was way too salty with my beef patty. Took away from the classic Allwyn’s original beef patty experience. Ordered some jerk pork with rice and peas with oxtail gravy. The rice and coleslaw were decent, the jerk pork was dry and salty.

We had to stop in and try some some beautiful jerk food we were craving. Heard all about this place so we had to stop by and check it out! The cornbread with jerk chicken patty was a great combo. The jerk sauce has that right kick you need to add that flavour to your tongue. Picked up some Pattie’s to go as well to bring home and enjoy! Ran into the owner Allwyn today and had a great conversation while we waited for our order. Very hospitable and welcoming. Come check this place out, great portions and everything tastes amazing. Great job!!
