They have the best iraqi meat gus sandwich (lamb +beef), and I recommend it in iraqi samoon with tomato and a little but of the sauce. The iraqi kabab was also very good and not heavy, the hummus and the complimentary lentil soup were perfect. The falafel sandwich was okay, it can be improved. It’s a cozy and buzzing location, nice atmosphere with great service.

The mixed BBQ plate is absolutely to die for, and the food is consistently delicious. I've been here many times, but recently noticed they’ve increased the prices while reducing the portions. The waiting time is also a bit crazy, they really should add more seating. Despite these issues, the quality of the food still makes it worth a visit.

Alforat offers an excellent experience with authentic Iraqi cuisine. The meal started with a complementary lentil soup, which tasted authentic and flavorful—a great way to begin. I also tried the beef sandwich, which was another authentic touch, served simply with tomatoes and optional sauces, staying true to traditional preparation. The service was warm and culturally familiar, with the waitress speaking Arabic. The restaurant's attention to detail was notable—the bathroom was clean, the food arrived promptly and warm, and the menu elegantly shared the story of Samoon bread, adding a cultural touch to the dining experience. Alforat captures the essence of Iraqi dining, and I look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended for those seeking a taste of tradition.

Alforat Iraqi Restaurant exceeded all my expectations! The authenticity of the flavors took me straight back to my childhood in the Middle East. The platter I ordered was an absolute treat—generous in size, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. The price was more than reasonable for the quality and portion size, making it an excellent value. The highlight for me was the garlic sauce (thoum). Its rich, creamy flavor brought back so many nostalgic memories—it was just like the ones I remember from my childhood. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service only added to the experience. If you’re looking for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine with amazing portions and fair pricing, Alforat is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back!

One of the best most delicious Iraqi and middle eastern food restaurants in GTA, such a service, the place is quite busy, specially on weekends, very very delicious food, I visited several times to try many items on the menu and frankly they were all good, the service is so friendly and fast, price wise is acceptable and reasonable within the nowadays range of the same category. I will definitely go back again soon. Try the lentil soup, try the beef Gas with Iraqi samoon the traditional way.

We recently ordered take out from this restaurant after hearing many good things. As Iraqis, we were looking forward to trying this place out and were familiar with the food offered. The taste of the food overall was excellent, but the portions were disappointing. This BBQ platter was supposed to feed 4-5 people, I don’t see how that would be possible. The shish looked like it was half a skewer, not even the full thing. The quantity of rice was so little, along with the side of fries (which would have been enough for maybe 2 people). They barely put any garlic sauce in the container, it was laughable how it would have been enough for 4 people. We spent over $130 for the BBQ platter and a wrap. Attaching pictures of the food, and keep in mind this is right when we got home and opened everything. The food tasted good, but we were disappointed with the quantity for the money we spent.

First time having Iraqi food. Overall pretty good the lentil soup as a starter was amazing. Not too salty and was creamy. We had coleslaw (probably not authentic but was one of the best Ive had! Of all places. Lamb heavy with chicken options. Service is good but not as polished.

Exceptional food! Probably the best BBQ I've had in the Plaza. Service is also very good. We tried the BBQ platter which can easily feed 4 to 5 people. The chicken was just delicious and the appetizer dips including Hummus were exceptional. There is normally a wait outside so plan accordingly but the guy at the door is super friendly and considerate and will get you seated. I highly recommend this place and will return.
