Great spot for freshly made homestyle food. After learning the owner is from Maryland and it being the afternoon, I choose the shrimp coconut rice with chicken. My husband had Ricky's Special with the waffles and egg. I loved the rice as it was well seasoned and a good bit of shrimp in there. The chicken was served with dipping sauce, but I enjoyed the crispy goodness without it as it wasn't needed. I had a quarter of a waffle too for desert and it was perfect. Light, crispy edges and melt in your mouth softness when biting in. All in all a great meal at a decent price. We will be back.

This place is so far one of the best Brunch I have ever visited. The owner is very welcoming and always have a vibrant energy. Food is Amazing! And so Fire 🔥! especially the fries!!! We ordered the Croissant with Salmon, egg and Avocado with Baked onions and it was sooo Bomb! My partner is a vegetarian and the owner willingly adjusted as to his request of putting goat cheese instead of egg and salmon (the vegetarians should try!!) and its soo good! Hope to come back soon and dine with you guys again!! Thank you so much!!

A small but lovely place to visit for breakfast. Everything was so good. It had me wanting more and more, and it was hard to turn away seconds. The soup of the day was also very splendid. Although they were busy because of the lack of staff, I didn't mind the wait after the experience. The pastries are also very good. Will come back again. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try a new place for breakfast!

Very candid place, the food was good and the juice was definitely a great recommendation considering I was out very late the nigh before. I’m from Montreal so it was a great discovery.

My Fiance and I decided to have our breakfast at Akus today. We both ordered the Western Sandwich and home fries, I myself also had a coffee. The food itself was amazing, the best Western Sandwich I've ever had, the home fries were delicious (somewhat small serving, but that's all around now), and the coffee was freshly ground, and incredibly flavourful. I will 100% be back here for more. Service was great, very polite young women, I truly hope this place thrives, just stop by and give it a shot.

My children and I had breakfast today at this beautiful restaurant. Good atmosphere. Good food, good service. The food was so delicious and affordable and the owner is such a nice friendly lady. And her smoothies are to die for. This is going to be my Saturday morning breakfast restaurant from now on

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I noticed right away that the diner was full of customers but not one table had food—red flag. After ten minutes, and still no service, I was starting to think we should leave (which we should’ve). The server who is also the owner, told us the kitchen was backed up by 30 minutes. We were willing to wait. But at this point, she still hadn’t even taken our order. Many other tables were in the same boat, sitting without even a drink in front of them. I’ve never been to a diner without a pot of coffee going around. Not one person had drinks (other than water). When we finally did order, I asked for sausage, eggs and toast, and my husband ordered eggs and toast. The owner didn’t ask how we wanted our eggs and hurried off. She was clearly flustered, and I can appreciate that she was feeling overwhelmed. Throughout our visit, quite a few customers came and went without so much as being spoken to by the staff. It was such a shame to have so many people interested in the diner, but have staff lack ability to serve anyone. When my breakfast came, around 45 minutes after we arrived, to say I was disappointed was an understatement. This was perhaps the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. First off, I don’t like scrambled eggs, so I was very disappointed by this. I hadn’t even been asked how I wanted my eggs. The sausage was chunky and thick—not a breakfast sausage. They were gross. The toast was the best part, and that’s not saying much. I was extremely underwhelmed after waiting so long. Had the food been good, it would’ve made up for the long wait. Sadly, this was not the case. The only redeeming thing about Akus is the price point, I guess. It’s cheap. But it might be one of those “you get what you pay for” experiences. Needless to say, I don’t believe any of the 5/5 reviews. There’s simply no way they’re real. This business is going to need serious work to turn things around. We definitely won’t be back. Edit in response to owner: yes, I was given a free pastry—which was a nice gesture and I appreciated it. But sadly, it didn’t make up for the poor quality of the food which, coupled with the service, means we won’t be returning.
